Meredith was too raw to stick onto the 53 man roster. If we called him up, he wouldn't be as ready as some of the other guys like Giacomini or Lang. He has great potential, sure, but he wouldn't be ready to fill in for Clifton.

I wouldn't have had a problem losing either Jackson or Bigby, not sold on either of them, but neither of those moves would have freed up a roster spot. If we let Bigby go, we would have had to keep Smith or another S, and the same for Jackson, we would have had to keep Sutton or Lumpkin. So we would still be in the same predicament with Meredith.

The only players that I think could have been cut for Meredith would have been Bush, or either Kuhn or Hall. We have 3 FB, so I would consider 1 expendable, and without Bush we still have 5 CB, and 4 S.

To me that is all to much to lose for a player that is even 2nd in the depth of project players behind Lang. Would love if he would have stayed on the PS all season, but I don't see any way that he would make the field this year, where these other would or have.
The world needs ditch diggers too Danny!!!

I don't think this is a big deal for this season because Meredith is still raw and not ready, but he could have been a future starter on this team and will probably be in Buffalo or for someone else. It's disappointing.

Not keeping Meredith in favor of the center Smith was baffling to me.

Why the Packers didn't PUP Brandon Jackson and keep Sutton was another mistake I felt the Packers made.

The end result is GB loss both players.

We couldnt PUP Jackson unless he started training camp on the PUP list. And as he wasn't injured then that wasnt possible.

Dane Randolph---

This the expected replacement. A guy we had and dropped.

He's about the same size height and weight as Meredith. I didn't like the Meredith pick anyway, at least compared to who I did want, and I still think I was correct.

He didn't show shit in camp. I'm over it. I have heard 'tude trouble, too.

I still cannot believe we left Duke Robinson on the table at this exact moment in the draft. Outland trophy finalist, considered by most/all as the best guard in the draft, and we could have had him right then and there, or worse (imo) could have had both. This would be my 608th reference to Duke Robinson, after I had promised not to mention him anymore, but that was before we lost Meredith. Duke is 6-5 330 lbs btw--- The kind of guard I want. Instead, we get 6-5 300lb. tackles.

Yes I remember.. I still like the Meredith pick though.. well not so much now that we lost him but he had the tools in my book.

But I would have been fine with the Robinson pick as well..

Time for my boy Lang to step up his game.. ASAP.
