I've seen people call for Joe Barry's job, a few for Matt LaFleaur's job, but what about Brian Gutekunst?
I feel like Gute has done a good job spreading the different draft picks around, but also like there are certain positions that have just dropped the ball.
On the OL, there is Bakhtiari and Jenkins whom got big contracts and haven't yet lived up to them. Maybe you need to give him a pass, as injuries weren't predictable at the time.
But then 2nd for Meyers, 3rd for Rhyan, 4th for Newman.
Musgrave looks like he has great potential, but 3rds for Sternberger, Dugara and Kraft (which Kraft is still a rookie, so give him a bit of a pass... but the best thing I've seen from him was his time in the Beer Olympics with Bakhtiari, in what I assume was a different state).
Other than Jenkins, Tom and Musgrave, has any of the top 4 round selections made by Gute worked out at OL, DL or TE?
Jenkins was a selection made with some inside knowledge as Luke Getsy was his Offensive Coordinator for a year in college before he returned to the Packers.
Edit: Edited to note that the Sean Rhyan selection, like the Jenkins selection, was done with some inside knowledge. As the Packers had recently hired Ramsen Golpashin to the offensive quality control coach position. Golpashin had worked for UCLA from 2018-21 (mixing his time between OL and DL, but his years the about same time as Rhyan at the school).
Tom might of been pure luck, I know I was saying he might be the next Bakhtiari before his draft, but the Packers selected Rhyan first and have claimed they scouted both as interior OL. So they thought Rhyan would be better.
Musgrave is basically a WR and the Packers have scouted WR pretty well. And maybe they should scout most TEs as WRs to improve what they get.
But those positions that block or get blocked, (other than Egge Rusher) Gute has done pretty horrible with his top selections and has used a lot of selections there.
The Packers
NEED to improve their OL, DL, TE/FBs draft scouting.
