I don't think anyone is saying you can't get quality WRs after the first round. But that doesn't mean you pass up high quality WRs in the first because of that fact.

I want Brian to take who he feels are the best players available, and players that will make the Packers stronger when he makes his selection/s in round 1.

I also have no problem with Brian packaging picks and moving up above the Saints to select Chris Olave at #15.😏

This team isn't one player away.

Regardless of position. Gute will take his best players available.

In 2020 he was high on Justin Jefferson, but couldn't find a trade partner to move up that high, and then Jefferson was gone. He then went with the next BPA on his board and went up and got J-Love.

No, it wouldn't have been a "waste" to draft Jefferson in the first round.

You try and get your top guy, no matter the round.

I am with you on wanting the Packers to take whomever they have highest graded. I'm a believer in that trust your board manta.

This knowledge of Gute comes from one of his right hand men Jon-Eric Sullivan. What I know about Gute comes from hearing him speak publicly, in pressers and etc, I've never spoken to Brian personally. Jon-Eric obviously knows him well. I've known Jon-Eric since his days as a scout in the Central Plains, circa 2008.

You are correct, Gute likes big athletic players. I am not sure how that relates to analytics? Not saying that you said it did, but you spoke about "RAS" as if that is something that may lead you to believe he focuses a lot on analytics.

But Gutey didn't take Stokes for his ball skills, he took him for his measurables, which are stellar. High RAS.

I'm confident that Gute looks at Combine measurements and testing, but they are not the end all be all for him drafting a player.

I will ask Jon-Eric next time I speak to him, what he thinks of Relative Athletic Scores. Which are really just combine measurements compared to others in your position group.

As for "RAS", I'm not even sure what it is to be honest, but others have linked high "RAS" scores with Packers drafted players. So, there's a correlation somehow, someway.
