Normally I'd be totally and completely against this, but 2023 is supposed to have a mega boost in cap due to new mega TV deals starting.
So potentially this could be a perfect year to lock guys into long term contracts as they're going to get a heck of a lot more expensive in the coming years, and what look like ridiculous deals might look average in the future, and what looks high now might look like a good deal.
Of course, you can't keep everyone, so we might be losing some, say maybe ILB Campbell, but the Rams have always let their
stud ILBers leave in this scheme, and they go elsewhere and don't live up to the contract, while Rams easily replace a the ILB with a mid round draft pick.
