Exactly. There are very few plug and play guys no matter what round they are taken in. McCarthy always talked about looking for layers to take a big step in year 2. It didn't happen half the time. Some did it in year 3. Others later and quite a few, never.

As sometimes they talked about how a guy had taken a 2nd year jump, and my reaction was "not on game day he hasn't!"
But I think it's about how professional they are, studying the game and trying to improve themselves and others.
When people were asking for his head and saying it was stupid to throw the ball to him, I was saying the dude has a wicked release and gets open. That's why he gets the ball thrown to him. I loved his route running, but felt it was a mistake to play through the ankle injury. And just when I was finally tired of fighting the mob for him, he started flashing good things again.
I'll almost always give a guy 2 or 3 years before wanting him gone. Names that come to mind that I didn't wanna see anymore were Ahmad Carrol and Jamal Reynolds. I don't think I gave those guys more than a half season before losing hope. I think the player I kept the dream hope alive too long was Justin Harrell. He just couldn't get healthy, let alone stay healthy.

I don't know enough about the injury or healing process, but I really wanted them to bench him and tell him to get back to 100% instead of possible slowing the healing process down by playing.
All the credit to him for playing in what seemed to be a huge amount of pain and not complaining about it, but I was in a small bit of pain just watching him try to fight threw the ankle pain whenever he had to do a second or third cut.
Didn't Gary already start over Preston?
Also questionable is the new, they're most likely playing.
And hopefully they can beat up on the Eagles OL, because I believe most of the original starters are on the IR.
