I would say that this is really an excellent analysis. On a relative basis, it understates the problems of the offensive line, but is well worth the watch.

Thank you GBGUY20 for posting.

That was a good analysis. A couple comments:

I disagree with him on the drag route to Adams. 17 was wide open where the deep pass had tight single coverage.

Does Philbin deserve some of the blame for the erratic offense?

It seems obvious to me that Mike McCarthy is done in GB. His only chance is a miraculous 180 degree change in the way this team plays. Whether the management is capable of finding a good replacement in his absence is TBD.

GB's Head Coach has become both predictable and not one that uses his personal in the most productive way. Yes the trend is to pass more and run less, but that is not always the best game plan for every team. In fact sometimes less can be more. I'm talking about time of possession as well as the ball security that a running attack provides. A QB like Rodgers would not be the sole key focus of opposing defenses. A more balanced offense makes teams respect both the running and the passing games.

McCarthy's play calls have become too scripted and their opponents have memorized that script. I don't dislike Coach McCarthy, but a change at the end of this season would be welcome. The point is to take advantage of Rodgers talents while he is still GB's starting QB. Winning SBs with Rodgers must be GB's prime goal moving forward and not allowing personal relationships to interfere with that goal.

Great analysis.

There's one thing I do wonder about, though. When he's talking about the Pack making it hard on themselves and shows those three plays at the goalline... I wonder if that's always Mike's work or just as much Rodgers himself.

It's pretty obvious that on 1st and 2, the O-line is run-blocking, none of the TEs run any kind of routes, but pick up D-linemen and Jones expects the hand-off and stops when he realises the ball is flying to Graham.

In other words, going to Graham on the fade when he's one-on-one is just an option Aaron has at the line, but that did look like a called run play by Mike.

Second down looks like a play-action pass play all the way.

Third down, again, looks like a pretty agressively run-blocking O-line and no pass-route for Jones. Could just be a very good play-action at the wrong time, but I do have the feeling Rodgers could, again, make a choice there.

That doesn't mean I think Mike is either a good or bad coach, but I do think that some of the blame he gets doesn't fully fall on his shoulders.

That said, the bigger point is very clear and the analysis is great. Would be great if they could get back to basics.

The thing that absolutely maddens me is that Mike's shown that he has it in him. The offensive gameplan he drew up for Flynn in that 2010 game against the Patriots, his first start ever, was amazing. We nearly outscored one of the best offenses in the league with our back-up QB.

I recall some good swing routes out of the back, slants, pretty quick curl routes etc. We ran the ball about as much as we threw it, although the talent level at RB was way lower than we have now with Jackson, Kuhn and Nance running it. We used a lot of check-downs to guys like Kuhn, Quinn Johnson, Nance, Quarless and Jackson. Something I've barely seen this year, as guys like Williams, Jones, Kendricks or Lewis are barely involved. I mean, I know Marcedis isn't the prototype pass-catching tight end from an athletic standpoint. Certainly not at his current age. But he is a smart guy who you can get the ball to, who can find some space and pick up 3-7 on a quick hit, rather than taking the sack and throwing away the ball again.

You know what I would like to see? How about the old Packer sweep! With Jones running the ball.
It seems a lot of the inside runs get stopped. Get Jones outside and into the secondary, and he will run over and through defenders.
Get some plays in the game that throws the defense off guard.

The Packers could win 50-0 today all we would read about was.
"Well it was only The Dolphins"

I get it.

Many here want Mike gone

Mark Murphy had his chance, he blew it.

This story is so damn old and tiring.

Nothing is going to happen until the end of the year.

Turn it off if you don't want to see it.

Do you have to subject those of us who just want watch and talk Packer football to a constant stream of Mike Sucks he needs to be fired rhetoric?

I get it, Buckeye.
I don’t know how old you are, but I lived through the 1970s and 80s.
I think many of the young Packer fans are so used to winning, that it is EXPECTED. They don’t understand that it’s not so easy to field a consistently winning team.
