I constantly hear people say that our #1 QB won't execute the offense so why does it matter if our #2 doesn't either? 😝

WPR, the point I was trying to make was, Hundley obviously wasn't getting the job done, so why NOT shake things up and give ANYTHING ELSE a try?
It doesn't seem Cobb could have been much worse.

Maybe so.... but I would have tried SOMETHING to try to shake things up.
But I guess that's just the way I think.

I think at this juncture if Green Bay got offered anything higher than a fourth rounder for Hundley, I'd be shocked and would probably recommend they take it. 49ers gave up a second rounder for a rental of Garappolo and they could wind up being a steal for SF even with his extension. Hundley did very little to differentiate himself much from the current crop of upcoming FA QBs where any team would be compelled to give up anything worthwhile when they could very clearly sign comparable talent and cost themselves no draft picks.

As much as some would like to change this player or that player, it must be clear that there are much greater needs with the Packers than replacing a backup QB. In fact, starting QB's are even harder to come by. A team, like the Eagles who were blessed with two Winning Starting QBs , is a rarity.

Hundley may not be a Rodgers or Brees or Brady, but few are. He is however capable of running the offense in a emergency. Also as a result real game experience last year, he is now more capable. If an acceptable (better) player could be found, it should not interfere with correcting GB's real needs at DE,CB, and TE.

Absolutely NOT! He was one of the worst QBs (statistically) in the whole league last year. I see nothing in him that tells us just because we turn the page on the calendar from 2017 to 2018 that he is magically going to be a better player. Not only is he not Rodgers, Brees or Brady, he is not Trevor Siemian, Blaine Gabbert or Tom Savage.

Wow...what a slap in the face THAT was.
Smokey didn't you see what happened once Rodgers was lost for most of the season? Without a decent backup QB ( which we don't have) you waste an entire season.
Yes, we have other needs. But without s GOOD backup QB, we will go no where.

You came to a public forum and expressed your opinion. Good for you. My only crime is that I had the temerity to disagree with your opinions. Sorry if you are that self conscious maybe you should stick to the threads where you won't feel threaten. Ones like your one word only thread or the what are you eating for dinner thread.

I gave up trying to help you fix your grammatical errors long ago because you seem to take offense. Apparently other people have noticed them too. I didn't do so trying to pick on you or to be critical of you. I make typos all the time and fix them when I notice it. My mistake was in thinking you wanted to know when you used the wrong word. You have been saying that I have been attacking you ever since. I am not. I am actually talking to you like you are a friend. According to many of your replies, I guess I am not.

I didn't do anything in my last post other than say that the vast majority of the people who come to this website already know there are greater issues than who the backup QB is. I would guess that even a 12 yr old knows that. Even so we should still be allowed to talk about him. If you don't want to do so, no one is forcing you to comment on him. If we make a comment or two that doesn't mean we won't comment on another topic too. People can actually post comments on several threads in the same visit.

I still say that Hundley is not a very good NFL quality QB. You obviously disagree. Explain. Are his overall statistics better than Siemian, Gabbert or Savage? I took the easy way and looked at their overall QB Rating. Do you want to narrow your parameters and look at total yards or TDs or Ints or first downs or something else? I don't know what you are thinking because all you said is he is capable of running the offense. Why do you think this? What proof do you have? You are entitled to your opinion. I am asking for you to tell us why you think so. You also said that given the chance he will do better this season. What makes you think so? It can't be because he went through the whole season and was getting better as he got more games under his belt. In week 17 he didn't look very good. 14/24 for 172 yards 1 td and 2 ints. Is it McCarthy's fault for calling plays where he could only throw the ball 2-5 yards down field? Without explaining your comments any better people are allowed to fill in the blanks on their own.

Instead of complaining about me, show me where I am misinformed. I would like to know.
