I can't stand the Lost the players crap. That tells me more about the lack of character of players than anything else.

scheme for players, another pretty cliché media term. Players play where their abilities best help the team. You start changing the scheme for one or two players, you end up weakening the entire team.

ONE player leaving and doing well, you could say was dumb luck. But TWO??? BOTH making the pro bowl??? Something is seriously wrong here.

It was Dom adjusting and developing that Hyde was even on the field in the first place. It is Dom developing that either of them were even looked at by other teams. Simple fact is that at the time Hayward was not a better talent or prospect and neither was Hyde. Would have been nice to keep them but the price did not equal what they offered to the team at the time.

Casey Hayward signed a 3 year $15,300,000 contract. It's foolish to think that his potential alone wasn't worth that amount of perceived risk at such a critical position. A team can never have too many good cornerbacks. It would be one thing if he got a monster contract, but the reality is he didn't. The Packers throw money around on players like this all the time.

I do agree that the money Hyde got was excessive (although it's probably not if he keeps playing so well). I don't mind that he wasn't resigned. It's more about the trend of defensive players having more success elsewhere and possibly not enjoying playing for Dom Capers that is more concerning. I don't think Dom connects with his players enough at this stage in his career.
