I can't stand the Lost the players crap. That tells me more about the lack of character of players than anything else.

scheme for players, another pretty cliché media term. Players play where their abilities best help the team. You start changing the scheme for one or two players, you end up weakening the entire team.

Separate thought, this was an interesting perspective to me.

With all the talk of “Fire Dom Capers” I don’t recall even one player stepping up and saying what a great coach he is, or how great it is to be playing in his system. I think his time is up. Let the other pieces fall as they choose.

Well Packfan.......how has NOT making the scheme fit the guys you have worked out for the Packers SO far?
I have seen year after year of an awful defense, that got us knocked out of the playoffs. So if what you have done doesn't work, how many more years do you keep doing it?
Insanity is doing the same thing over and over, and expecting a different result.

ONE player leaving and doing well, you could say was dumb luck. But TWO??? BOTH making the pro bowl??? Something is seriously wrong here.
If they don't change it, the result will never change.

Maybe in that case we could go back and prevent Hayward from being hurt all the time also.

I have no problem getting rid of Dom because of the bad performance of the defense. But saying he didn't adjust the scheme or develop players is asinine. It was Dom adjusting and developing that Hyde was even on the field in the first place. It is Dom developing that either of them were even looked at by other teams. Simple fact is that at the time Hayward was not a better talent or prospect and neither was Hyde. Would have been nice to keep them but the price did not equal what they offered to the team at the time.

Hyde is not a better player than either Burnett or HaHa. Hayward was not better than Shields or prospect then Rollins and Randall. Dom has been adjusting ever since he lost Collins, he had to adjust to 2 deep more because he no longer had Collins able to cover center field on his own. He has had to adjust to losing Shields meaning he has to keep help more because nobody had Sam's speed to recover from trail technique. He has had to adjust to not having Raji.

Without looking and realizing how different the defense would look today had it not been for them loses is foolish.

Yeah, it seems like click baiting to me... here is what Hayward said... and he didn't even mention the Packers... to suggest Hayward snubbed or took a semi-shot at the Packers is one thing is more realist... to suggest this is the F word is WAY over blowing it...

I do agree that the money Hyde got was excessive (although it's probably not if he keeps playing so well). I don't mind that he wasn't resigned. It's more about the trend of defensive players having more success elsewhere and possibly not enjoying playing for Dom Capers that is more concerning. I don't think Dom connects with his players enough at this stage in his career.

Players get drafted based on potential, they don't get multi-year, multi-million dollar 2nd contracts as a part time player based on potential. That is a sure way to run a team in the cap hell.

I can't say how much Dom interacts with the players, he has never appeared to be that type of coach which is why I think he likes to be in the booth rather than on the sidelines. If that is how he wants to be fine, as long as he had assistants that fill that role for him. Kevin Greene seemed to do that, I'm not sure if any of the assistants now do. It never shows up on the camera during games.

Hyde is good, because of his dedication and film study. Remember when he read that screen and picked it off? Parlayed that and a couple other plays like that into a huge contract.

FACT is, dude lacks speed for CB, size to play S. So he's more of a S, but we've already got too much depth at that position to be laying out that type of contract. Congrats to Micah, not just for getting the contract, but for continuing to play at a high level.

As for Hayward, he's a slot guy. We also have a plethora of those. Also, he couldn't say healthy here. Maybe his new team taught him how to keep those hammys loose.
