By rule, Biegel must six out for the first six weeks of the regular season -- four down, two to go -- before he can begin practicing with the team. After the six weeks, the Packers will have a five-week window -- until week 11 -- to determine whether or not he's capable of practicing. If what Biegel said in August pertaining to his foot being mostly healed is true, another month-and-a-half should put him in even better of a spot.

On the day Biegel first practices, the Packers have an additional three-week window to decide whether or not they want to activate him to the 53-man roster. They'd have to make a corresponding move in order to do so, depending on where their roster numbers stand by then. The second week of the three is also a bye.

Why does this guy get so much hype again? Aside from the fact that he went to Wisconsin.

Its partly the Wisconsin connection but its also partly the fact he looked pretty damn good while playing there. Throw in that Peppers/Jones were allowed to walk and the Packers have some need for depth at OLB.

He got to the QB at the previous level of competition. Played pretty equal to Watt, whih a broken foot.

I think Montravius is gonna boost our pass rush too. We'll see what these guys look like come playoff time.

After the Vikings game, the Packers will still have a 3 week practice window, so they don't have to activate him to the 53 man roster right away. So he might still be slight less than a month off from his debut.

When DT Adams got back from his injury, the coaches seemed to suggest any player missing their first training camp is will be very far behind and need to practice a lot before playing, which I figure would also apply to Biegel since he's missed even more time.

So unless their are injuries, I could see the Packers waiting and giving Biegel as much practice time as possible before activating him. That being said... there are some injuries with Brooks and depth wasn't the best. And the Packers OTs might be coming back soon and with that they could potentially drop one of the back-up OTs.

Biegel’s recovery should have had him ready play a week or so before start of season; if there were no setbacks he is physically mega-ready to play.

Not sure what Biegel can do this year. But, we saw how quick Martinez picked up the D last year and like Martinez, I expect Biegel has assimilated the playbook as well as any rookie w/ very limited practice can possibly do. He is a leader stud w/ great football acumen and an unrelenting drive. He was a better college player than TJ Watt, though some think Watt’s game translates better to NFL better, we’ll see. Biegel will be assignment sure, just not sure if he’ll be able to beat NFL Tackles this year. If he gets some snaps, some motor sacks will come while he does a decent job holding the edge, covering TEs and Backs and playing his hook zone responsibilities. Then next year when he’s a bit stronger, another year removed from injury, playing faster like Martinez did this year, you'll see why the hype...I hope!

At least 1 team took him off their draft board for the foot problems and it’s unimaginable the 1265 med staff didn’t feel the same way or very close to it. This means Ted had to have a 2nd round grade on him to pick him early 4 and liked him much better than Lawson. We see how Lawson’s been doing, so it is intriguing.

Biegel just might make a few plays per game this year and I expect him to at least become a special teams demon.
