Not sure what Biegel can do this year. But, we saw how quick Martinez picked up the D last year and like Martinez, I expect Biegel has assimilated the playbook as well as any rookie w/ very limited practice can possibly do. He is a leader stud w/ great football acumen and an unrelenting drive. He was a better college player than TJ Watt, though some think Watt’s game translates better to NFL better, we’ll see. Biegel will be assignment sure, just not sure if he’ll be able to beat NFL Tackles this year. If he gets some snaps, some motor sacks will come while he does a decent job holding the edge, covering TEs and Backs and playing his hook zone responsibilities. Then next year when he’s a bit stronger, another year removed from injury, playing faster like Martinez did this year, you'll see why the hype...I hope!

At least 1 team took him off their draft board for the foot problems and it’s unimaginable the 1265 med staff didn’t feel the same way or very close to it. This means Ted had to have a 2nd round grade on him to pick him early 4 and liked him much better than Lawson. We see how Lawson’s been doing, so it is intriguing.

Biegel just might make a few plays per game this year and I expect him to at least become a special teams demon.

Yeah, I thought the pick was gonna be Lawson. Two Auburn DL back to back with Adams, then Lawson... but nope, surprise Biegel! I like Biegel, I just thought Lawson was the better full time edge rusher (like Nick Perry), where Biegel was more versatile (like Clay Matthews), which I thought we already had a potential prospect covered with Fackrell.

Why do you think Ted had to have a 2nd round grade on Biegel? Lawson also had injury concerns... Lawson missed 2 years (outta four) with season ending injuries. I figure that must be why Lawson fell so far.

They also just added a foot specialist to their staff, perhaps coincidentally.

After comparing the draftnik reports/internet stories, watching some film and mainly seeing what the 32 GMs did 😂, I think Lawson went just about right. He's got some knuckleheadedness on his resume. I think that's why he fell from where you'd might otherwise think he be picked given his talent and SEC production. He had a rib injury and knee injury that he was past and those are not the types of injuries that cause teams to remove a guy from the board.

Biegel has had problems with his feet in High School; then twice at Wisc. Finally culminating in surgery last September. These feet issue chill GMs. ACLs, Achilles or alot of other injuries you might thing are really bad, ya know, as long as it wasn't catastrophic like Sherrod, the GMs dont get too worked up about as long as the guy played a year on the repaired body part. But, these foot injuries can destroy a career. The team that pulled him is saying we dont care what round you fall to, we'll call ya after draft if not picked. Ted knew Biegel's history and the strong odds the foot will fail again, and possibly again and again, so it was a gamble.

And I dont think Ted gambles unless he has substantial odds. I just cant see Ted taking Beigel if there was anyone near the tier Biegel was in. So I dont think Ted pick's Biegel if he carried a third round grade, heck he may have been a low first rounder sans foot issues to Ted. What this kid did last year was simply amazing given his bum hoof.

And yes, Martinez is the exception, so was Adams, so was Rich Rodgers, so was Monty and so is Vince 😁. Ted really values that in players, attitude and football acumen is Ted's #1 measurable 😁

beast (8-Aug) : But the Return from IR designations had to be applied by the 53 man cutdown.
beast (8-Aug) : It's a new rule, so it's not clear, but my understanding was that they could be IR'd at any time
Mucky Tundra (8-Aug) : *had to be IRed at 53
Mucky Tundra (8-Aug) : beast, I thought the designate return from IR players had to be IR at cutdowns to 53, not before
beast (8-Aug) : It's a brand new rule, either last season or this season, prior, all pre-season IRs were done for the season
beast (8-Aug) : But the Packers would have to use one for their return from IR spots on him, when they cut down to 53.
beast (8-Aug) : I think the NFL recently changed the IR rules, so maybe the season might not be over for OL Glover.
Zero2Cool (8-Aug) : Packers star Howton, first NFLPA prez, dies at 95 😔
dfosterf (8-Aug) : Apparently it is too complicated for several to follow your simple instructions, but I digress
dfosterf (8-Aug) : Zero- Did you see what I posted about Voice of Reason and his wife? She posted over at fleaflicker that they are both "In"
Zero2Cool (7-Aug) : Well, not crazy, it makes sense. Crazy I didn't notice/find it earlier
Zero2Cool (7-Aug) : it's crazy how one stored procedure to get data bogged everything down for speed here
dfosterf (7-Aug) : to herd cats or goldfish without a bowl. They reminded me of the annual assembly of our fantasy league

Zero2Cool (7-Aug) : Sure does feel like site is more snappy
Zero2Cool (6-Aug) : I thought that was the Lions OL
Mucky Tundra (6-Aug) : Travis Glover placed on IR; seasons over for him
Zero2Cool (6-Aug) : found bad sql in database, maybe site faster now?
dfosterf (5-Aug) : I'm going to call that a good move.
Zero2Cool (4-Aug) : Packers sign CB Corey Ballentine
Zero2Cool (4-Aug) : I'm not sure how to kill the draft order just yet so it's not so confusing.
Mucky Tundra (4-Aug) : *to be able
Mucky Tundra (4-Aug) : and because it's not a dynasty league (which makes a lot more sense to be ability to trade picks)
Mucky Tundra (4-Aug) : Oh I know; I was just exploring and it blew my mind that you could trade picks because of the whole reordering thing
Mucky Tundra (4-Aug) : Zero, I think I preferred my offer: your 1st for my 15th rounder
Zero2Cool (4-Aug) : Keep in mind, we do a draft reorder once all members locked in
