Beast , you funny ! [rofl]
You can post about my offering , but you can't produce your own complete line-up ? [wtf]

Most NFL teams (including the Packers) run nickel defense about 80% of the time. And base and dime are run about 10% each... so if I were to make a list of starters it would be of a nickel defense (which teams don't do, because the NFL is demanding teams oversimplify for the fans).

My guess for starters

OLB/DE - Nick Perry
DT - Kenny Clark
DT - Mike Daniels
OLB/DE - Clay Matthews

ILB - Jake Ryan
ILB - Blake Martinez
Slot DB - Damarious Randall

CB - Davon House
CB - LaDarius Gunter
S - Morgan Burnett
S - Ha Ha Clinton-Dix

* I think the Packers very well could mix and match the DBs to get the best match-ups based on the offensive team they're playing. Which includes most of the CBs and using a S in the slot DB role as well.

CB, for me is a toss up.. and I think it will depend on who the WR match-up is.. and how they played in practice that week.

I also think Brice could be at SS and Burnett at slot... as well as some roles with Josh Jones at the slot in a LB role.

Is Christian Ringo still with the team? I get him and Khyri Thornton mixed up.

With Guion in trouble, AGAIN , I believe that GB will either promote a player to starting Nose Tackle or acquire a Free Agent . In addition, Gunter will never beat out Kevin King or even D. Randall for a starting DB spot .

Also Gunter was the #1 CB last year.

As for slot DB or NT, it depends on which you're looking for... are you looking for the players that you know, play the most as starters... or are you stuck looking at the outdated depth charts that coaches openly admit and joke about is completely different than their own, because the NFL forces teams to over simplify it.

So if we're talking about the depth chart only (and not who plays the most), then it would be
DE: Lowry
NT: Clark
DT: Daniels

All 32 teams run use different forms of the 4-2 nickel package more than any other set-up. The 3-4 and 4-3 are being used less and less as teams pass more and more (in part due to player safety rule changes which are making it harder to run the ball and easier to pass the ball). But for some reason the NFL wants depth charts to be in that format.

1st - Gunter sucked last season and so did Randall , that's why they drafted Kevin King and got House back from FA .

2nd - Daniels is a lock for the D-line, Clark may lead at present for NT , but he will have to still compete for it at TC . The 3rd DL position , IMO , will be openly competed for in TC. . Several candidates come to mind including Lowry for GB's 3-4 Defense .

As for your Defensive Coaching strategy, you may want to send your recommendations to Coach Capers. His 44 years of coaching experience might could utilize your advice. You can maybe teach him the differences between the 3-4 and the 4-3 and the 4-2 Defenses and which ones he should use.

As far as the Coaches are concerned, they will choose who does /does not start at every position based upon their years of experience as professional coaches. [flapper]

I know what positions guy can play, other than maybe the rookies. If fully healthy, Daniels and Clark are the best two DL and are basically locks... especially if we're talking about the 3-4 (which you are).

Guion, Letroy – NT
Clark, Kenny – DT/NT
Price, Brian – DT/NT

Jean Francois, Ricky – DT/NT/DE
Lowry, Dean – DE/DT

Daniels, Mike – DT
Ringo, Christian – DT
Adams, Montravius – DT/*Rookie
Lunsford, Izaah – *Rookie

It's a 5 DB on the field league now... as the passing game has grown and rules have change to help the passing game and hurt the blocking in the running game, it's become a larger and larger passing league with all teams going to a 4-2 front with a slot DB.

Every team is now a 4-2 defense... but the labels has remained even though the NFL are changed.

The 2015 season was the seventh straight year for an increase in the number of defensive snaps in the NFL with five defensive back or more on the field. Per Pro Football Focus here is the percentage of plays in NFL games with five DBs or more on the field in every season since 2008:

2008: 43.4%

2009: 45.1%

2010: 48.8%

2011: 52.5%

2012: 54.4%

2013: 58.3%

2014: 60.3%

2015: 63.4%

Thank you Coach Beast . You will of course keep us , the uninformed up to speed on all Packer/League trends/changes. KC has an opening for a GM by the way.

Is there any other news/information that you would be willing to share with the rest of us ? Perhaps you could explain the keys to reading a Defense or how Aaron Rodgers could get better or the best nutritional diet for a CB .

Please let us know when you walk on the water . [blink]

dfosterf (16-Apr) : Trade, cut or keep
dfosterf (16-Apr) : that from Jaire
dfosterf (16-Apr) : My guess is the Packers floated the concept of a reworked contract via his agent and agent got a f'
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Yes, and that is why I think Rob worded it how he did. Rather than say "agent"
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Same laws apply. Agent must present such an offer to Jaire. Cannot accept or reject without presenting it
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : I'm thinking that is why Rob worded it how he did.
dfosterf (16-Apr) : The Packers can certainly still make the offer to the agent
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Laws of agency and definition of fiduciary responsibility
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Jaire is open to a reduced contract without Jaire's permission
dfosterf (16-Apr) : The agent would arguably violate the law if he were to tell the Packers
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : That someone ... likely the agent.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : So, Jaire has not been offered nor rejected a pay reduction, but someone says he'd decline.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Demovksy says t was direct communication with someone familiar with Jaire’s line of thinking at that moment.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Demovsky just replied to me a bit ago. Jaire hasn't said it.
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Of course, that depends on the definition of "we"
dfosterf (16-Apr) : We have been told that they haven't because he wouldn't accept it. I submit we don't know that
dfosterf (16-Apr) : What is the downside in making a calculated reduced offer to Jaire?
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Packers are receiving interest in Jaire Alexander but a trade is not imminent
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Jalen Ramsey wants to be traded. He's never happy is he?

dfosterf (14-Apr) : Maybe send a crew of Angels to the Packers draft room on draft day.
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : I am the Angel that gets visited.
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Visiting Angels has a pretty good reputation
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : what
Martha Careful (14-Apr) : WINNING IT, not someone else losing it. The best victory though was re-uniting with his wife
Martha Careful (14-Apr) : The manner in which he won it was just amazing and wonderful. First blowing the lead then getting back, then blowing it. But ultimately

Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : I don't recall that he did which is why I asked.
Zero2Cool (10-Apr) : Guessing they probably knew. Did he have cast or something on?
Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : Did they know that at the time or was that something the realized afterwards?
Zero2Cool (9-Apr) : Van Ness played most of season with broken thumb
