As another NFL Season approaches , GB seems to have stocked it's pantry with Defensive players. Many will not make the 53 man roster or the Practice Squad. I have assembled a starting line-up for this years Defense.

DE - Kenny Clark -------- 2nd year
NT - Christian Ringo ---- 2nd year
DT - Mike Daniels -------- 6th year
LB - Nick Perry ----------- 6th year
LB - Jake Ryan ----------- 3rd year
LB - Blake Martinez ------ 2nd year
LB - Clay Matthews ------ 9th year
CB - Davon House ------- 7th year
CB - Kevin King ----------- Rookie
S - Morgan Burnett ----- 8th year
S - Ha Ha Clinton-Dix --- 4th year

Nickle CB's and 2nd string players will be determined by the start of the Reg. Season . I fully expect to see disagreement in this thread. Let the Posting Begin !

Can anyone put a better starting line-up together for the 2027 GB Defense ? Remember you can only choose from the current GB roster put together by Ted Thompson .

Dline will probably be Daniels, Clark and either Lowry or Francois.

CB is tough depending on how Randall and Rollins bounce back. But at this point not enough information, has King even been able to do anything yet.

I would like for Josh Jones to replace Martinez at ILB. Would lose a few lbs but would gain a ton of athleticism on the field.
The world needs ditch diggers too Danny!!!

It seems that many of the positions on the Defense are not so solidly filled . NT , LB , CB, etc.

GB's Defensive starters may not be so set in stone after all . [shrug]

Clark is a DT/NT and not a DE... and Ringo is just a DT like Daniels.
Lowry at DE or Jean Francois anywhere, would of been better IMO.

Also why does a rookie automatically get a starting spot?

Most NFL teams (including the Packers) run nickel defense about 80% of the time. And base and dime are run about 10% each... so if I were to make a list of starters it would be of a nickel defense (which teams don't do, because the NFL is demanding teams oversimplify for the fans).

My guess for starters

OLB/DE - Nick Perry
DT - Kenny Clark
DT - Mike Daniels
OLB/DE - Clay Matthews

ILB - Jake Ryan
ILB - Blake Martinez
Slot DB - Damarious Randall

CB - Davon House
CB - LaDarius Gunter
S - Morgan Burnett
S - Ha Ha Clinton-Dix

* I think the Packers very well could mix and match the DBs to get the best match-ups based on the offensive team they're playing. Which includes most of the CBs and using a S in the slot DB role as well.

Yeah, I think the Packers media guy was just trying to be respectful by putting both Guion (NT) and Clark (DE) both on the starting spots ... of course I have no idea what he was thinking with the back-up DL.

Here is my opinion of what positions the DL guys can play
*Rookie means I haven’t seen them enough to get a full opinion yet

Guion, Letroy – NT
Clark, Kenny – DT/NT
Price, Brian – DT/NT

Jean Francois, Ricky – DT/NT/DE
Lowry, Dean – DE/DT

Daniels, Mike – DT
Ringo, Christian – DT
Adams, Montravius – DT/*Rookie
Lunsford, Izaah – *Rookie

dfosterf (25-Jun) : Ed Policy yay or nay is on the pre-approved ballot that we always approve because we are uninformed and lazy, along with all the rest
