I've given up hope on ever having a top 5 defense. Not when it takes you five years to find a couple guys with the potential to be decent inside linebackers, and then 2-3 years developing them. Just fucking crazy how Ted Thompson goes about things. Then, you let Tramon, House, and Hayward walk thinning out your CB position so that your veteran is a player with a concussion history. Just poor GM work.
No, go with huge offense and opportunistic defense, and you'll have a better chance at success.
