Packers cornerback Sam Shields has been charged with possession of marijuana, according to a criminal complaint filed in Brown County.WBAY TV reports that Brown County Drug Task Force investigators went to Shields’ home in October after a suspicious package was delivered to the home from Colorado, where recreational marijuana is legal.Shields allegedly answered the door with a blunt in hand, and the officers noted a strong smell of marijuana in the home. A search revealed both marijuana and marijuana-laced candy in Shields’ home.He was arrested and charged with one count of possession of THC and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia. Attorneys entered a not guilty plea on Shields’ behalf in court this morning.The seventh-year cornerback has been on injured reserve since October due to a concussion.This news comes on the heels of a recent report that Packers wide receiver Geronimo Allison was also charged with marijuana possession earlier this year; he faces a court date on January 23rd.
