Oh boy ...

Charges are related to an investigation in October. Packers  cornerback Sam Shields  has been charged with possession of marijuana, according to a criminal complaint filed in Brown County.

WBAY TV reports  that Brown County Drug Task Force investigators went to Shields’ home in October after a suspicious package was delivered to the home from Colorado, where recreational marijuana is legal.

Shields allegedly answered the door with a blunt in hand, and the officers noted a strong smell of marijuana in the home. A search revealed both marijuana and marijuana-laced candy in Shields’ home.

He was arrested and charged with one count of possession of THC and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia.
Attorneys entered a not guilty plea on Shields’ behalf in court this morning.

The seventh-year cornerback has been on injured reserve since October due to a concussion.

This news comes on the heels of a recent report that Packers wide receiver Geronimo Allison was also charged  with marijuana possession earlier this year; he faces a court date on January 23rd.

BIG brother is watching!
I would think the POleece would have bigger fish to fry.
Apparently not in Green Bay.
I think most police departments would turn a blind eye.
Especially considering that he was in his own home not presenting a danger to the public.

Honestly this pre-universal legalization limbo is kinda ridiculous. It's inevitable that all states will soon not be charging offenses like this.

Let's all enjoy the choruses of Shields not being "Packer People."

You must be smoking some very strong stuff!

[list=1]Only time I've heard the Police turn a blind eye is (sometimes) when

And then there are the millions of recreational users.
Just numbers wise turning a blind eye is pretty much essential or law enforcement would be doing a good impression of a dog chasing his tail.
Plus throw in the fact that most court systems don't want to be overloaded with simple possession cases.

Heroin...It's natural so it's gotta be okay just like 7water Hemlock, which is also natural. Gets old reading how people who just wanna get high preach how it being natural makes it innocuous. No one was put on this earth to get drunk or high but it's amazing how many spend their short time here chasing just that.

    Get help Sam.

The players are just going down to the next pain killer item... which is currently being promoted as healthier, safer, less addictive, less side effects, much cheaper and much more available (hell if I know if thone promotions are true or not, but that's what they are promoting).

But if you get a group of people hooked and take away what they need to preform at their best, they're just going to go to the next item that they think they can get away with... which is weed. And some speculate that at least 75% to 80% of all players use weed...

So either most NFL players don't have brains or there is something about it that is helpful or enjoyable enough to risk it for what ever reason...
