Well only 6 defenses kept opposing tesms under 20 points average this year

yards mean your offense can't score.
yards means doubt sets in.

I want a defense that gives up 200 yards a game. Try and score from your own side of the 50.

BTW GB was 25 in total yards allowed and 24th in points allowed. They correlate.

Let's hire Leslie Frazier. I want to switch back to a 4-3 anyway.

Personally I think Matthews would be able to switch to a LB in the 4-3, and I think we have the horses in that could make a good 4-3 line with Neal, Raji, Jolly, Daniels, Boyd, D.Jones, Worthy

I don't participate in chat during the game, but I sometimes read along. It's downright silly that some fools in there - and in the forum in general - are blaming Capers. In fairness, there were, of course, a few voices of reason in chat saying it ain't the scheme or the coach, it's the players.

NOBODY in all of the NFL makes adjustments and compensates for personnel weaknesses like Capers. Sometimes, though, you just can't stop everything. Why are we weak against the run? Because we have to do too much to cover the pass - DUH! Why do we give up big plays sometimes? Because we are loading up the box to stop the run - certain times against some teams. Look at the Bears game - a LOT of 3 and outs - success, along with occasional gashes where doing what we NEEDED to do because of weak personnel didn't quite work.

A large part of the anti-Capers crap derived from what Kaepernick and the Niners did to us - twice. The season opener, Capers got even more creative than usual - with the whole off-season to plan, and he did manage to stop the runs that Kaepernick killed us with in last year's playoffs. Unfortunately, the compensation left too much reliance on single coverage, and we got burned. I'm really anxious to see what our defensive genius - NO SARCASM - puts together this time - his third crack at the Niners. Maybe he will shut up you fools who want him fired once and for all.

One more thing, it's been said, blame Capers for poor individual performance and fundamentals of the D players - "coaches should be teachers". Maybe, but the same people saying that tend to push guys like Greene as a replacement for Capers. Hell no to that! It is the position coaches like Greene that should be doing the teaching. If our tackling or coverage is sloppy, blame the position coaches, and the coordinator only indirectly for not replacing the position coaches.

Ultimately, though, as I've said over and over, the blame for faulty D falls on you know who - the damn GM who has put the team together.

I will now sit back in listen to a bunch of fools and whiners say otherwise.

Texas, I thought I made you cry and you quit. You weren't working or anything last night were you "on the Dole boy"?

You'll get your wish because Uncle Ted just doesn't fire guys. But like usual, you are completely wrong on this issue! Capers flat out sucks, and is the beneficiary of having a high potent offense to carry his slacker ass. No wonder you like him so much - he's a lot like you - no credibility and never takes responsibility for anything.

You respond with 2013 team stats that say less yards are the correlation a team gives up less points?

So be it then.

I'm not arguing which came first, the chicken or the egg. I am saying ... keep teams under 20 points per game consistently, period.

And that's were we all start bitching at: once it was shown that the pre-game plan to stop Kaepernick failed, Capers couldn't adjust.

I think the post game show said it best after that game. Yeah you don't want Kaepernick running wild like he did last year but don't be afraid to challenge him especially after you spent all season saying how much more physical and tough you would be. Kaepernick showed he didn't want to run and take a hit on a stretch option play by IMMEDIATELY throwing his hands up to show he didn't have the ball after handing off to Gore.
