Yeah, it's far more likely that Ted has a list of QBs that are likely to be cut, than it is that he will make a trade.

I think the only thing we can safely say is that Harrell cannot make accurate reads and passes under heavy, fast pressure. That being said, that backup O-line looked absolutely horrendous and was a complete embarrassment. ARod is screwed if we have a couple injuries on the line.

From what I've seen of Harrell, he is not worthy of a NFL contract, so suggestions should be made as what we need to do. BJ Coleman is practice squad material at this point, but at least he has a rifle arm and not a noodle like Harrell.

As for the O-line, I disagree that our backups are inadequate. EDS backs up all the interior lineman positions, Sherrod will be ready by the first game albeit rusty as hell - so that leaves Wells and one more roster spot between Dominguez and Datko. Wells is a drop off, but has a lot of game experience. I believe that Sherrod is more naturally talented at left tackle and will unseat Newhouse down the road. I believe it would be quite foolish for McCarthey to go empty, when Newhouse faces a premiere rusher like Peppers and Allen. Some chip blocking will be necessary.

Wells didn't look any better than Herb Taylor has. I wouldn't consider him any more of a lock than Datko.

Want to know why Harrell is struggling.. look no further than the first pass attempt.. Taylor lost protection within one step.

The next attempt.. complete miss (Harrell had fault there as well) in the blitz. But the center of the pocket collapsed.

I didn't really get to watch much past the first series of the second half.. but that first series spoke volumes.

BTW... Harrell made a nice play on that first attempt spun out of the pressure and delivered an out on the run.. on the money for the completion no less.

I will wait for McGinn to tell me how well Taylor played.. lol.

Sherrod will be on the PUP for the first half the season.

EDS will back up the interior spots.

So by my count.. the Packers start the season with one more lineman.. probably a Wells type.

But the part of the second half I seen.. Harrell was getting no time behind that collection of players playing as a group.

Have I ever stated how little I think of the OL's coaching... it is the same problem year in and out.

But Newhouse played very well.. so I think our starting group is in good shape.. and if we can make due until Sherrod comes back.. depth isn't a huge concern there after.

I don't know that we have that 7 active lineman on the roster right now.

Aside from EDS and Sherrod I just don't see any of the o-lineman backups are fit for the 53.
Wells is nothing more than a poor mans backup and should be gone soon as Sherrod is ready and I'm sure Ted will be combing the cuts for an upgrade or two but this seems to be a tackle starved league.
Datko will be sent to the PS and would probably be safe.
If Harrell had been behind the starters and looked that bad he would definitely be gone.

Harrell sucks. Our QB's run for their life/ step up/ step out, etc. in this system. It's a reality. Cut his ass and get a guy that is used to running for his life. We have been too good for too long to get a really decent left tackle in the draft, so we're stuck with it.

Please Lord, let Aaron Rodgers stay healthy, or my team is totally fucked. I mean this in the most reverent way, so forgive me, lol

Harrell does suck, but he can hold a clipboard just fine. If Rodgers goes down we are fubar anyway, so I'd just as soon go wildcat with Cobb. Best case scenario is to hope the fish cut Gerrard.
