I don't really think this is a matter of people wanting to "get rid" of players. Simply looking at the numbers. Are we really going to keep 7 WRs this year? That is fine with me as long as they aren't putting another position at risk with too little depth - but that's impossible IMO. So, who carries the most trade value? Who could we afford to part with? Do we want to wait and just cut a player and get nothing in return?

Hey, if the coaches were behind this, the discussion could be about Jennings instead, and I would be fine with that too. If the staff evaluates the upcoming talent to be ready to step in and contribute at a high level, maybe that is a move that has to be considered. Do I want to get rid of Jennings? Jones? No. I like them all. This is strictly about numbers.

As much as I like Jones, I would trade his hands for Gurley's. If he has the rest of it to go along.

Same with Driver.

The more I look at Jones stats from last season, the less I want the Packers to trade the guy. With the limited amount of playing time Jones had last season, he did put up some pretty good numbers.

- His 3rd highest yards receiving (Top: 676 yards)
- His most TDs in a season (Next: 5 TDs two consecutive years and in both years he actually had 3 starts)
- Best YAC average of his career at 16.7 yards (Best on team: Jordy Nelson- 18.6 YAC average)

Randall Cobb needs to see more snaps on offense, which is one of the reasons why I thought Donald Driver shouldn't have return. Trading Jones opens that opportunity, so I understand it from that perspective.

However, Cobb is a second-year player and Driver’s skills are regressing. In addition, Jermichael Finley's durability is somewhat of a question mark. There's some pros in moving Jones, but also many cons. I have a ton of faith in Cobb, so I think I see more pros than cons. Jones is also better than Driver. That's what I don't get. Did they choose Driver over Jones? Perhaps the Packers are looking to depart with the wrong receiver.

They're also saying Diondre Borel is looking as explosive. That, I will have to see for myself.

But then again, I pretty much prefer Gurley or maybe even that Moss kid over Driver as well. They might not work out, but there's also a chance they could develop into a solid to great WR, sorta like Driver himself. Unfortunately, there's no hope of Driver getting any better. Hopefully we win a Super Bowl with him this year, though.

I don’t know how good my trade value is. I haven’t heard anything about trades or anything like that. I’m just here to play football. Whatever happens, happens. I don’t worry about all that stuff up top. If they came to me at my locker and said, ‘James, you’re going to the Cincinnati Bengals,’ I’d cry a little bit and then move on. You’ve got to do what you’ve got to do. It’s a business.
