According to this link here  the Packers are entertaining the idea of trading James Jones.

We all know, that no one really wanted James Jones as a free agent in the 2011 off-season, but lets indulge the idea ... who could the Packers trade James Jones to and for what in return?

Doesn't look like there is much interest in Jones if this article is correct.

Packers Were Shopping James Jones Prior To The Draft

Packers are just gonna have to be patient if they really do want to trade Jones, the injury bug will hit another team and they will come looking.

Any trade would probably be for a future draft pick, no players. I am guessing at best a 3rd or 4th rnd pick depending on the interested team.

Packers have enough WR talent to ditch anybody but Jennings and Nelson... What would they want for him? At this point of the season, it's really hard to tell... We drafted for defense which is where we were hurting, we really don't need another draft pick(s) for 2013, so until we really get an idea of what the kids on defense can do, it's really hard to project what our needs will be. We're certainly not going to get any sort of starter-quality player for him, that's for sure. But it never hurts to dangle someone out there to see who might be desperate for some talent.

Teams that could use a guy like Jones are teams like Texans, Jags, Titans, Ravens, Rams, Dolphins, Raiders, Jets, Browns, Seahawks etc...

Even with some Packers connections I wouldn't expect Dolphins or Browns (unless Philben is able to pressure the GM into it). I think Raiders/Seahawks would be a likely option.

Seems like trade value for non-QBs has been pretty down lately... I'm thinking at best 5th round.

Also it doesn't seem like Thompson likes trading away players that have a shot at making the final roster... Corey Williams and Favre are only two he has. Favre because... well I think we all know. And Williams because the Browns were talking HUGE $$$ with his agent before FA started and it was gonna be a lot more than Thompson was gonna pay so he took the tag and trade.

I don't think the Packers can get much for him. Maybe a project C or something.

As long as the Packers don't shop around Jones with a higher price tag than he is, the teams mentioned would probably bite...especially the Texans.

Jones to any team mentioned for a 4th-5th round pick wouldn't be a bad deal.

Actually, I don't, because I think he's a good player for our team. However, I view him as the most tradable Packer at this time, due to his effectiveness, experience, size, speed, and his cap friendly contract. I would rather get something for one of our WRs than nothing. Pick (s) for next year is fine. My guess is Ted will wait this out to make sure we aren't the ones suffering an injury to another player at WR through TC, and will trade one of our guys prior to cut downs to 53. If the price is right, maybe he makes a move sooner than that. Houston sounds like a good bet.

Our WR depth is incredible. We can't keep them all. Best to trade rather than cut.

Yeah, it probably makes sense if we could get decent value out of him. If these young receivers (Gurley, Borel, Moss) are as good as they seem, the difference in production for a 4th-ish WR shouldn't be significant, and the Packer's would have another draft pick to play with next year. But honestly, it was anything less than a 4th, I'd rather just keep him. I'm not sure a 5th round pick would make much sense for a team that will be competing for the Super Bowl. One of two bad injuries, and the WR core looks a lot different.

Mucky Tundra (7h) : Colts 1st round TE Tyler Warren also got prank called, was that Jax Ulbrich as well?

Martha Careful (25-Apr) : No thanks. Not a dependable guy to be in the right place and run the right route. Dumb as a box of rocks.
Zero2Cool (25-Apr) : Losing 2nd round pick for a one year rental, not ideal. Especially a headcase.
TheKanataThrilla (25-Apr) : Pickens for Jaire may be interesting. Definitely not sure we want Pickens long term.
