How many DL do the Packers keep, in general? 6?
• B.J. Raji DT
• Ryan Pickett DT
• Jerel Worthy DE
• Anthony Hargrove
• Mike Daniels DE/DT (291 lbs?)
• C.J. Wilson DE
• Jarius Wynn DE
• With the draft and free agent pick ups, I wouldn't be surprised to see Neal fail to make the team.

If he's on the PUP list, does his suspension start after those six games? I say the PUP list because then he can't get hurt in training camp, lol!!!

I think he may still make the team this year. (after his time out.) If he doesn't show something he is gone.

The Packers are said to be playing more base defense, which means you need more linebackers than defensive lineman. That's what Dom Capers and Mike McCarthy have said they will do and needed to do.

I just don't see where he fits in. He's often injured, unfortunately, now the weird failure of a drug test and when he was on the field he wasn't impressive at all. If the Packers keep 8 DL and 10 LB I could see that, but typically you keep 25 for each offense and defense... and I believe it's common to keep 10 DB's.

DL 6
LB 9
DB 10

If Neal can get right, he'll be a force.

#6: Someone not on this list. Maybe Guy, maybe Green (if he reports in good shape), maybe someone not on the radar.
#7. See #6. Or Neal or Wilson. Probably Neal.

I think Wynn is gone. I wouldn't be surprised to see Wynn, Wilson, and Neal all gone, but my guess is they'll give him a third year just like they gave Harrell.

The more I think about it, the more I think keeping 7 DL is might be too many, by one. Then again, if that 7th DL is better than the 10th defensive back, it'll happen.

Neal makes the team as long as he shows SOME type of promise in training camp. Wynn and Wilson are incredibly unimpressive to me (I suppose as is Neal). But, being that Neal was a 2nd round draft pick, he'll likely get the benefit of the doubt. But once again it will depend on him showing some of that "potential" he has in OTA's and training camp (which I think he can and will do).

I don't think Neal's days are numbered, but he may be on thin ice. The third year is usually a critical year to show you can produce. He needs to get and stay healthy. And clean.

Mucky Tundra (30-Jan) : Now that's a thought, maybe they're looking at the college ranks? Maybe not head coaches but DC/assistant DCs with league experience?
beast (30-Jan) : College Coaches wouldn't want that publicly, as it would hurt recruiting and they might not get the job.
beast (30-Jan) : I thought they were supposed to publicly announce them, at least the NFL ones. Hafley was from college, so I believe different rules.
Mucky Tundra (30-Jan) : Who knows who they're interviewing? I mean, nobody knew about Hafley and then out of nowhere he was hired
