I feel this can go so many ways with how other scenarios play out.

DL Roster according to packers.com:

DT-Mike Daniels- IN (although I think as a DE)
DT-Ryan Pickett- IN
DT-B.J. Raji- IN

DE-Lawrence Guy- IN
DE-Anthony Hargrove- IN (if he gets the suspension lessened or none at all: see the Williams Wall)
DE-Mike Neal- IN (Harrell treatment. No way Ted Thompson cuts one of his high DL picks so quickly)
DE-Jerel Worthy- IN (I think Worthy can also be a rotational guy at NT, if need be)

DE-C.J. Wilson- CUT
DE-Jarius Wynn- CUT
DT-Daniel Muir- CUT

DL-Johnny Jones- PS

7 DL.

As Zero has said over and over and over again, GB didn't "let Jenkins "go". They didn't throw a sh!t load of money at him 2 years before his contract was up and he got a little grumpy over it. GB actually offered him more than Phillie did.

Can Neal play at a high level in the NFL? I don't know... but the Packers shouldn't give up on him, they should give him a fair shot just like everyone else... let them compete for it.

Comparing Neal to Rodgers and Jenkins is pretty silly.

Jolly didn't make it, but that's because he got locked up for illegal drugs and couldn't stay clean and away from drugs.

Also players can take a couple of years to get used to the NFL. Raji wasn't a star as a rookie, Nelson didn't hit it big until the late part of his 3rd year. Giving up on talented players too early what's pretty silly. Unless they're getting out played, on the field, and the others DEs didn't stand out from Neal, and Neal has more potential.

That being said Neal and Hargrove start the season suspended and probably on the reserve/suspended list which I think frees up roster spots.

Also I don't think Guy is a lock for that spot. I think Wilson has shown the most compete game of the guys cut. But a lot depends on what new things they're doing with the 3-4.

I don't think Packers.com usually chanced Pickett and Raji to DTs in the other off seasons, so they're ether doing something new, (I just don't remember them do it in the past) or Capers is doing a new scheme... which could be possible as the Packers have talked about changing this up and using the 3-4 more and Capers has talked about building the system around the players. So I think there could be some changes.

It's just hard to give a guy lots of guaranteed money who has seen the injury bug and is hitting 30 quickly.

Neal and Harrell did not.
Just my opinion, but I believe Neal and Harrell are cut from the same cloth with the exception that Harrell never got suspended.
Okay maybe Neal benefits from the suspension and comes back very healthy, good for us, fresh legs.
But the minute he gets a hang nail and can't play I'll be waving bye bye.
Myself I would rather not wait.
