To be blunt, this article, Joe, is pretty much an analysis of what Ted himself has stated after he drafted BJ Raji: when players are rated similar on the Packers board, need comes into play in making a selection. Frankly, if people are still doubting those words after they came from Ted... well let's just say they might need to reconsider the sources they do believe.
"[R]ecent" injury history? I think that's a bit of an awkward way of putting it... "recent" would imply probably past season to me. Yet with some of Thompson's biggest busts - Harrell, Neal (to date) - their injury issues were consistent throughout their college careers. It's hard to argue that Ted should be willing to pick injury prone players in the first few rounds considering our results, but I'm not too worried if he drafts someone who seems to have missed games his last year due to a nagging injury.
I'd love to get a candid look at what Ted thinks about taking players who have consistently been injured throughout their college careers considering the past results of this. I highly doubt it would, at present, be a marginal factor. I dare say another high pick used on a DL who has trouble staying healthy might lead us to yet another early playoff exit.
