You do realize that if everyone like you just gave the money directly to Cheesey instead of routing it through umpteen bureaucracies and "democratic processes", you'd probably save about half your money.

America: Where we'll protect your rights unless DakotaT doesn't like you and can point towards injustice in the past. In that case, why don't we just strip the federal government of all their rights over the internment of japanese-americans during WWII and near genocide of various native american tribes? What about Europeans? Our ancestors were responsible for plenty of bloody conflict as well as slavery. Or is your judgement over who or what deserves constitutional protection limited to whatever strikes your fancy? Sure glad you don't run things.

As for our past conversations, I just don't believe you can have peace in the future without fixing the past first. But if people refuse to accept the responsibilities of their pasts, then by all means, let's all just choose to continue hating each other.

But that is the whole point: I don't obsess about the past, and I don't hate anyone. If they choose to hate me, that is their own problem.

And yes, regardless of how others may view their sincerely held convictions (I think the vast majority of their teachings on sex are absurd), the Catholic Church's freedom to teach and practice according to its conscience is to be protected under the Constitution. "Congress shall make no law . . . prohibiting the free exercise" of religion. It doesn't add the caveat, "unless the majority thinks their practices are outmoded, reactionary, or illogical."

If having your birth control covered by health insurance is that important for you, don't work for an organization you know full well has the sincerely-held belief that birth control is sinful. No one is forcing anyone to work for the Church.

Let's face the truth.
It's an ELECTION year. Obama and the others (republians included) want the woman vote. Thus, push through this B.S. to give these pills to the women.
Hey....i might be wrong....but doesn't "Planned Parenthood" hand these things out for free to whoever wants them? If so, why is this law needed????
Also, as was stated, this woman isn't exactly POOR.

And also.....just because these drugs will now be "free" to whoever wants them, doesn't mean they ARE "free".
SOMEONE will be paying for them.

I get migraines every week. Yet i can't afford the $190 for 9 pills that it costs. So i just lay down, and pray i can make it through the pain.

And my asthma inhaler......that' $45. Without that, i could die.
I guess that this wouldn't get enough "play" on the news though, so no politician will come forward and agree to pay for my meds.

Liberals hate Rush. So what else is new? I might not agree with all he says, but he often makes ood points. He might not always stste them "politically correct" though.

Just as i think guys like Al Sharpton, and Jesse Jackson do more harm between the races then help.
JMO of course....as a "nut case right winger".

The only thing I hate more than conservatives is liberals.
I want to go out like my Grandpa did. Peacefully in his sleep.
Not screaming in terror like his passengers.

Heh. Hard to decide who I hate more - liberals or conservatives. Liberals want to ban this, conservatives want to ban that. Both groups suck and need to be devoured by zombies.

Cheesey - Yes, Planned Parenthood gives free birth control if you're poor. And you have a point about the squeaky wheel getting the grease. Start an asthma society. Whine about how much it sucks. Get lots of people to join. Then watch the dollars roll in.

I'm not saying this in jest. I'm serious. That's how it works. Politicians will do anything to get your votes.

And for the record, I've donated to Planned Parenthood many times as without them, there would probably be a few more young Zombieslayers running around. Thanks PP. =d>

(And yes, Cheesey, I feel bad for anyone with asthma. I wouldn't wish asthma on my worst enemy. My wife has it. She had to use her inhaler two days ago or else I would have been driving 90 miles an hour to the hospital. It sucks.)

Just have two points

First, she allegedly spends 3K on contraceptives because of her sex life. Perhaps she has just one partner and they happen to have a very healthy sex life. I don’t know the whole story, but it’s not my place to judge. Frankly, it’s none of my business or anyone else’s.

I don't know if this was part of the discussion here, but the Blunt amendment isn’t any better. How many employers would find religion or spirituality overnight based on that bills passage? I don’t have a moral objection to most of this stuff, but that doesn’t mean I wouldn’t exploit a law to save money. I know, it's a prick move, but many bosses are pricks. That’s my point there. We really need to write our laws better instead of writing them to impress voters. That is such a vague way to write a law.

I often joke that one party is dumb and the other is dumber. I just have trouble figuring out which. This sort of stuff makes it a little easier to figure them out.

Porky for the most part it is not one's business. But when she makes a statement publicly about her sex life it is our business.

$3000 a year on contraceptives? Even if she is paying full price for the pill, she shouldn't be paying more than about $50 a month, or $600 a year. Even at convenience-store prices, condoms don't cost more than a buck apiece. So where is the rest of the money going?

I missed typed. It's 3K per college stint. Therefore, 3K per three years is what I think she said. In her defense, I don't think she specifically said that she spends that. I think she's stating that some cases can be 3K per stint. It seems vague, however. Regardless, I think this entire issue is stupid. It’s about votes. One party made a play for votes using their phony freedom card and the other party jumped on them. In other words, it’s the same old crap.
