oh boy.
first of all, my dear male friends, contraceptives are not JUST for birth control. many women obtain health benefits simply by taking them. others have painful menses (& i mean squeeze yer nuts for you guys) kinda pain - bcp's very often help with that.
so call some woman a slut because she wants oral contraceptives paid for because you're a damn neanderthalic idiot who is so closed-minded that the only possible reason she could want bcp's is to have sex & alot of it - way to go there rushy boy. and also way to go catholic church for completely ignoring the other health benefits of bcp's. bury those heads some more! wow!!!
edit: i sounded way bitchy didn't i?? [boxing]

My point isn't that contraceptives (even though the word itself implies that they are to.. you know.. CONTRACEPT) aren't taken soley for birth control. It's the demand that a PRIVATE institution (funded by a religion that doesn't believe in the usage of said contraceptives) provide them.

As 'wrong' and 'ignorant' you or anyone else claims the Roman Catholic Church to be because of their beliefs on birth control pills, it's their right to have those beliefs.

Doesn't this argument just lay the groundwork for the next type of health coverage some group doesn't want to have to cover?

As far as the rights of the Catholic Church, since it has been trampeling human right throughout the centuries, does anybody even care about the rights of the church.

having said that...her argument (now that you told us) holds little water to me now. if she knew when she started working there that bcp's were not provided, too bad so sad for her. alot of people have RX's they can barely afford so i say 'suck it up buttercup', get a 2nd job, & get those bcp's on your own.

What about Europeans? Our ancestors were responsible for plenty of bloody conflict as well as slavery. Or is your judgement over who or what deserves constitutional protection limited to whatever strikes your fancy? Sure glad you don't run things.

I honestly didn't watch the whole testimony because the video I found with it was edited (thus I'd be missing parts of her argument). From what I've seen she used sex as part of her argument. Of course she used other reasons.. I pointed out the sex argument because it was just plain silly. Your 2nd to last sentence is exactly my argument. Even if you DIDN'T know they wouldn't supply bcp's, you HAD to know that the school is a private Catholic one, which means they don't take public money, which means the government has no RIGHT to say how they provide insurance.

The "slut" responded to The Slime on NBC Today Show. I didn't bother to bring her statement over here. Someone else can if they want to. I am going to go to lunch.

No point in harboring guilt for that with which neither I nor my forebears had anything to do.

I refuse to feel responsible for any of my forefathers actions nor my descendents. I am responsible for me and me alone.

Ok if I thought my kids to shit on others I would be responsible to a certain extent but I didn't so I won't.

Well then......when someone comes forward and agrees to buy the monthly meds i need, i'll not "bitch" about a woamn wanting birth control pills. For WHATEVER reason she wants them.
I have to make a choice every month. Pay the rent and car payment, or get the meds i need.
So my health is going to hell because i HAVE to make that choice.

My "right wing nutcase" mind only wants it to be fair. If they want THEIR meds paid for, then damn it, pay for mine too.

If that's "right wing", so be it.
Come on "left wing", pay for MINE too!!!
THEN I'll side with you.
It's not just women that deserve it, is it?

Mucky Tundra (16h) : Now that's a thought, maybe they're looking at the college ranks? Maybe not head coaches but DC/assistant DCs with league experience?
beast (17h) : College Coaches wouldn't want that publicly, as it would hurt recruiting and they might not get the job.
beast (17h) : I thought they were supposed to publicly announce them, at least the NFL ones. Hafley was from college, so I believe different rules.
Mucky Tundra (17h) : Who knows who they're interviewing? I mean, nobody knew about Hafley and then out of nowhere he was hired
beast (20h) : I wonder what's taking so long with hiring a DL coach, 2 of the 3 known to interview have already been hired elsewhere.
Zero2Cool (27-Jan) : Packers coach Matt LaFleur hires Luke Getsy as senior assistant, extends Rich Bisaccia's deal
