I'm just worried that Rodgers might retire if Jones isn't signed.

James Jones is our most physically capable wide receiver, by any reasonable measurement. We love them all, but he is a Green Bay Packer wide-receiver without the drama / diva b.s..

I want to keep him and let him develop...

for us...

Thank you, earthquake, for your two excellent posts on this topic. You've summed up my own feelings better than I could have. I like Jones, and I would like to have him back if the price is right, but anyone who doesn't think he has a problem with drops is in denial. That is the weak point in his game. What concerns me most about it is that it has not gotten better through the years. He looked sure-handed in his rookie year, then regressed in his second year, which at the time seemed like the result of an injury that lingered all season. But the problem with drops did not get any better in years three and four.

I would like nothing better than for Jones to come back and catch everything that is thrown his way-or at least catch all of the easy ones when he has nothing but open field in front of him. He's capable of doing it. He needs to work on his concentration.

He has really soft hands, but seems to make the difficult catches look easy and then buffles up the easy ones. Which to me, from everything I was taught about catching comes down to one thing. Lack of concentration. And that I believe is something that can be fix and am confident with Edgar Bennett has a good chance of being done.
