No argument whatsoever about what we've done to the Native Americans. To this day, that's messed up. You see it closer than I do being in ND. The CA Indians are doing ok because of casinos, but a lot of them feel like it's like "blood money lite." Better than being impoverished, but that's not the best way to make money.
So, besides Native Americans...
As for the Bill of Rights - you're probably right - it is a great document; I think I'll hold back my adoration of the imperfect men that wrote it.
Just did my taxes a couple weeks ago, wrote the check and didn't cry about it, just accepted it as paying my way in this country. Go Tea Baggers, keep the rich from paying that extra three percent, but make sure the teachers have to live on 30 thousand a year. What a bunch of bullshit.

I pay too much in taxes. You do too. As for teachers living in poverty, that's a whole different argument. You'd be surprised how I feel about that. I actually think teaching is the most important profession in America, period. I'm pretty left-wing when it comes to teachers.
However, I don't believe in raising taxes for teachers. I believe in cutting spending. Cut military spending. Cut welfare. Cut CORPORATE welfare, something the left doesn't understand (they all supported those bailouts). No more foreign aid to ANYBODY. No more bailing out 3rd world countries who are stupid with money. There are plenty of ways to cut spending so teachers can get paid. No need to raise taxes.
Oh, and you want to fix the trade deficits? Put the same tariffs on China that they put on us.
One more thing - you'd consider me rich because of my income. I'm not rich. The average cost of a home where I am is still over $700k, even with the crash. Any idea of what a mortgage is for a house out here, even with 20% down and the low interest rates of today? Plus we've been paying $4 a gallon awhile back. Our food is made here and is still more expensive than what you pay for, even though it's grown right here. Freaking strawberries grown literally across the street from my old condo (we could smell the fields) were more expensive in the local store than they were trucked to Texas. They screw you when you live in California.
Of course, I don't expect sympathy from you about living here. Salaries are higher. Cost of living is higher. Just keep in mind $150k a year in California is way less than $100k a year in ND. Not even close.

And let me add one more thing about Indians (feather, not dot. Stupid Columbus).
Indians have it horrible. Let's not kid ourselves. Average life expectancy is 44 years old. No exaggeration. We fucked them over really bad, white Americans and colored Americans alike. Do we owe them an apology? That's the least we can do. We owe them some fucking land is what we owe them.
