He'd get more than Haynesworth. I think he'd probably get the biggest contract in the history of the league if he became a free agent in today's NFL.

It always amuses me that Aussie Rules stars play for a decent career, maybe make half a million per year if you're near the top of the league, transfer to the NFL and then bang, $2 mill to punt a ball 6 times a game.

Are we talking veteran NFL player Reggie White or just out of college Reggie White? By the time he transferred to Green Bay, if that were to happen now, he'd probably earn Haynesworth money. And it'd probably be worth it.

Well, we once had a punter that not only can punt, but can break tackles better than any of our RBs and even throw the football too. Then Ted Thompson got rid of him. :physassult:

Your interpretation is about as accurate as one could be about Jon Ryan, well, except for the mass exaggeration of his skills. Jon Ryan could punt the ball 80 yards, or 17. That was his downfall. No real sense of consistency.

Packers went from blah to WTF HAPPENED in a heart beat. Frost would have made any punter look like a damn gem. Just because Frost sucked so much, doesn't mean Jon Ryan was so great!

I wish people would start to grasp that concept already. It's so freaking old news my butt is itching.

Slick - This was said half in jest.

Sad part of it was that we got rid of him and got someone even worse. I was always under the impression you're supposed to upgrade a position, not downgrade it.

Anyways, back to Reggie...

2 Time Defensive Player of the Year
13 Time Pro Bowler
12 Time All-Pro
198.5 sacks (2nd all-time)
Selected to the NFL 75th Anniversary Team
The NFL All-80s Team
The NFL All-90s Team
HoF in 2006

Comparing him to ANYONE today is a joke. Nobody is even close.

Agreed. Reggie dominated for 10 - 15 years. Haynesworth has had 2 dominant seasons. Plus, Reggie is at defensive end which is a higher paying position i believe than DT. I mean, Haynesworth got 7 years 100 mil. Maybe it sounds stupid but I think Reggie could be a 20 mil/year player but at least 7 years 120 mil i would have to think. With the issues Haynesworth dealt with and considering Reggie was like the golden child. I mean damn, who could possibly dislike Reggie in the mid-90's.
