What would they know about the orgianlist interpretations of the US Constitution? You mean the documents written by slave owners and the aristocrates of their day? Like the Tea Party members would be able sit down with those men and break bread (dilusional at best Formo).

No what the Tea Party wants is the 1950's America back, where the man was the only bread winner and his wife was basically his servent. Minorities had absolutely no say in anything. Formo, I am friends with a lot of these guys and I know exactly what's in their hearts. Calling them Nazis is extreme but so is turning back the clock sixty years. Tea Party politcs sickens me.

Oh please. That's the crap I kept hearing from the elitist college leftists who had no idea how the real world worked.

Yes, they owned slaves. That sucks. So we should dismiss everything they said?

The Bill of Rights was the best thing ever written by man, period.

And as a "minority," the last thing I need is for white people to feel sorry for me. I can take care of myself, thanks. The only racism I have to deal with nowadays is the "woe are colored people" crap I get from white people and cops. Yes, cops still suck in 2011.

Less taxes and less government are a good thing. It's just a shame we got idiots like Rush Limbaugh and Sarah Palin associated with the Tea Party. Those faux conservatives are far from defenders of the Constitution.

Crap huh Zombie. Ever been on an Indian Reservation? Tell me that race of people didn't get fucked and tell it to me with a strait face. No, there's a lot of wrong in our righteous country. I'm sure not all people of color would share your foregiveness.

I like the idea of zero taxes in colonial times, but the problem with that idealogy is that we didn't have a military occupying the whole world then. Ron Paul wants to cut military spending, great. Yeah good luck with that one Ron.

As for the Bill of Rights - you're probably right - it is a great document; I think I'll hold back my adoration of the imperfect men that wrote it.

Just did my taxes a couple weeks ago, wrote the check and didn't cry about it, just accepted it as paying my way in this country. Go Tea Baggers, keep the rich from paying that extra three percent, but make sure the teachers have to live on 30 thousand a year. What a bunch of bullshit.

No argument whatsoever about what we've done to the Native Americans. To this day, that's messed up. You see it closer than I do being in ND. The CA Indians are doing ok because of casinos, but a lot of them feel like it's like "blood money lite." Better than being impoverished, but that's not the best way to make money.

So, besides Native Americans...

I am right. Think of a better document than the Bill of Rights.

I pay too much in taxes. You do too. As for teachers living in poverty, that's a whole different argument. You'd be surprised how I feel about that. I actually think teaching is the most important profession in America, period. I'm pretty left-wing when it comes to teachers.

However, I don't believe in raising taxes for teachers. I believe in cutting spending. Cut military spending. Cut welfare. Cut CORPORATE welfare, something the left doesn't understand (they all supported those bailouts). No more foreign aid to ANYBODY. No more bailing out 3rd world countries who are stupid with money. There are plenty of ways to cut spending so teachers can get paid. No need to raise taxes.

Oh, and you want to fix the trade deficits? Put the same tariffs on China that they put on us.

One more thing - you'd consider me rich because of my income. I'm not rich. The average cost of a home where I am is still over $700k, even with the crash. Any idea of what a mortgage is for a house out here, even with 20% down and the low interest rates of today? Plus we've been paying $4 a gallon awhile back. Our food is made here and is still more expensive than what you pay for, even though it's grown right here. Freaking strawberries grown literally across the street from my old condo (we could smell the fields) were more expensive in the local store than they were trucked to Texas. They screw you when you live in California.

Of course, I don't expect sympathy from you about living here. Salaries are higher. Cost of living is higher. Just keep in mind $150k a year in California is way less than $100k a year in ND. Not even close.

--

And let me add one more thing about Indians (feather, not dot. Stupid Columbus).

Indians have it horrible. Let's not kid ourselves. Average life expectancy is 44 years old. No exaggeration. We fucked them over really bad, white Americans and colored Americans alike. Do we owe them an apology? That's the least we can do. We owe them some fucking land is what we owe them.

"Indian reservations"......that brought back a memory from my childhood.
The reservation in LacDu Flambeau.....we vacationed there for a few years. One year, we saw brand new apartment complexes built by the government for the indians there. BEAUTIFUL buildings and landscaping.
Exactly one year later when we went back there, the places looked like a ghetto. And there were no lawns left, just mud.
You wouldn't have recognized the place in only one year.

Zombie, the way to fix the economy is to quit allowing foreign tax loopholes to corporations and the wealthy. All their income should be included on their returns. This country is being sold right out from under itself.

Everybody in here laughs at me for living where I do. A six figure income makes you want for nothing in this state. The problem is that you have to either be real lucky to get that income from one job, or you have to hustle for it. Mine is the latter, I have a state job plus I have a partnership in a business. So every argument we have in here, I can swing from and relate to all sides. I always choose to side with the guy getting the shaft versus the overtaxed rich man. I do not look at the tea party as people getting the shaft, and I think the governor of Wisconsin is a pawn of wealthy people with an agenda.

(If you cut spending, you don't have to raise taxes)
And also, then "unions" don't have to fight to get the "people" big pay raises.

In a perfect world?... Raise taxes in a more progressive manner.

I agree with zombieslayer here.

Even though the Bill of Rights is only the second greatest document written by man.

(The first being the Declaration of Independence.)
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
