I also think Rodgers does use this whole "proving people wrong" thing a bit too much. He dropped in the draft. Everyone talked shit. Then the situation with Brett. It just seems like he holds onto it a bit much. But then, why shouldn't he? I don't fault him for that, per se.

You're wrong here. It's the media that holds on to it. I haven't heard Aaron bring up the topic and brag about it....the media talks about it, not Rodgers.

I thought it was Driver right away. And btw, there IS no guarantee Donald Driver will be back next year. Could be Tauscher too. Both were "Favre guys."

Favre should start by apologizing to Ted Thompson for trying to dictate to Ted Thompson how he should do his job, who he should hire as coach, what personell he should acquire. He should then apologize to Mike McCarthy for undermining the coach, the offensive coordinator and trying to dictate what the offensive philosophy should be and what plays should be run.
He should then apologize to the entire franchise and fan base for spreading the playbook around to opposing teams. He was like a bitter 14 year old girl.
He could even go back and apologize to Chmura, because if you think Favre was doing anything different than Chewy was at the time, you'd be mistaken.

It's well-known that Favre partied a lot in his younger years, but you still haven't told us exactly what awful things Favre did during his time in Green Bay and what your sources are for this information.

With that said, you still answered my question with yet more insinuation. If the only thing you have is the dong texts, then that's fine. Just as I can judge so can you. But what's the part about "The people of Green Bay have seen much more, particularly back in the day." mean? I have no issues with you not liking Favre, as someone said about the article, who cares really? But I would like to understand what your statements mean.

Please don't click on the link. This is irresponsible journalism at its worst. This guy is making shit up.

Brett & Aaron get along just fine. The Favres were rooting for the Packers and Brett said Aaron's the best QB in the NFL. Likewise, there is no bad blood for Brett from Aaron.

"zombieslayer" wrote:

So, wheres your proof of your statements? as far as im concerned this post is just as much "making shit up" as the article is (according to your claims).

also to the guy posting above me, what he is insinuating in his post is that the green bay locals knew all about what favre did back in the day. and let's just say loyalty to his wife/marriage was never high on his priority list (or so i've read over the years), so this news about him sexting other women doesn't come as much of a surprise to them.

Texting pics wasn't around in the 90s or Favre would have been the most photographed prick in the world. There are lots of bar tenders, bar patrons, bouncers and waitstaff that will be able to give dates and number of women each night.

He not only is in the recent news for sexting, but also for harassing multiple women at one time.

You would have to be incredibly naive to think that is the first time he has done that. He is 40 and to think that he is trying out a new trick is amazingly naive. To think it has never worked before is also incredibly naive. He propositioned multiple women to meet him together with some reasonable expectation of success. From his reaction of being surprised when they said no, it usually works.

I would expect that what we've learned about Favre recently is just the tip of the iceberg, but who knows? I don't think many fans are interested in finding out. That doesn't mean we're fooling ourselves. It just means that we're more interested in football than in the personal lives of the players, and it gets pretty murky when you try to determine who did what to whom anyway. Most fans only pay attention to this stuff when it becomes a legal issue, because then it can't be ignored.

Aaron Rodgers does like to prove people wrong. He's said it a few times. He uses that as motivation, a chip on his shoulder if you will. When he dropped to 24, he said he wanted to prove the Packers made a good choice, told Ted he wouldn't regret that pick and he'd do what he could to prove others should have taken him sooner.

I don't think there's anything wrong with wanting to prove others wrong if it's in a positive way. It might not be healthy, but it's a lot how I've lived my life. No one has ever said i could do anything, other than fail miserably.

"Zero2Cool" wrote:

Much as Brett Favre's crazy, low percentage throws were what made or broke him (either he was the hero or he was the Zero...ummm...no pun intended) I see this aspect to A-Rod's character as analogous. It is exactly this trait, this desire to prove people wrong, that led Aaron to run head first and not slide on the play that ultimately knocked him out this year. He admitted it himself that he was trying to prove he was tough. He also used this "chip" to drive him throughout the season. I just hope he can use this towards a positive thing (like winning Super Bowls) and not a negative thing (where teams are able to goad him in the press such that he alters his play to "prove" them wrong, playing into their hands.)

I'd like to think he is too intelligent for that but ego is a funny thing and has a way of making sane people do insane things.

I'm not sure what sort of proof you guys really want about these rumors. The media and slavering Favre fanatics did their utmost to shield their darling from the repercussions of his actions for decades. But the rumors were always there.

I was hearing the truth about Brett Favre's personality from people who live or lived in Green Bay years before he left the Packers. The stories I heard from multiple sources about his off-field behavior were quite in keeping with his on-field behavior: undeniably brilliant, yet wild, erratic, brash, reckless. There's a saying among poker players that the better one knows the personality and lifestyle of one's opponent, the better one can predict his on-table playing style, and I believe the same can be said for football. While Steady-As-She-Goes Rodgers is eating at fine restaurants, then retiring early to watch film, Interception King Favre was out carousing till the wee hours and doing his damndest to steal other men's wives.

The fact that Brett Favre can summon tears on cue and can't stand by an opinion for more than five minutes at a time doesn't alter the fact that he was and is an asshole, and that Green Bay fans kept their heads studiously in the sand about his off-field behaviors for years.

Yet they immediately seized upon Aaron Rodgers' peccadilloes and made media hay of them. How cute.

I don't know why we're still talking about this, though.

damn still doing the Favre bashing 😞 Get the Fuck over it people, he did what he did so in your eyes he is a bad guy. I guess that would mean you want Hourning and the rest of those guys taken off the ring of honor, Hell they would show up drunk and have many women with them.

Back on topic I still think Rodgers and Favre have talked and Rodgers don't want it to turn into a big media event. He seems to shy away from the spotlight and maybe Favre has learned to shut his trap.
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)
