Brett's impact on the Packers is in the past.. sure he will mend some fences and may or may not sign some sort of marketing deal with the Packers.

What he did upon the field will not be discounted nor minimized go forward.

But the amount of "juice" Brett has in Green Bay and within the Packers organization will never be the same prior to the 2008 season with all that has taken place post that Giants game.

And the relationship of Brett and Aaron will probably never be exposed in the public light for years to come. Just rewind to the on field embrace and words that per Rodgers will remain "private", it didn't look to be confrontational or bitter.. so for us the fans, that should be enough.

Fact is.. it is Aaron's time in GB.. and the more distance put between the two the less the media will continue to hound upon the topic.

Their relationship isn't any of our damn business.. nor the presses.

They are both grown adults and I will let them worry about that..

I don't think there's anything wrong with wanting to prove others wrong if it's in a positive way.

I agree with Zero here.. as I do it all the time. I even hold myself accountable to my own thoughts or perceptions of myself.. I harness that all the time... fuel to the fire so to speak.

I think all highly competitive people are wired this way.. it just varies on how it impact their relationships with others.

Far too articulate and grammatically correct for Bigby (and 90% of the league, unfortunately). I'm thinking it's an offensive lineman or another QB...

And that said, I don't really care. Brent is a memory. And not a particularly fond one. Kampman and Harris handled their departure like men: classy and grateful to the team. Brent joined the enemy like a vengeful, butt-hurt child.

"Since69" wrote:

Huge Huge difference. Kampman and Harris were let go or not resigned, Brett was traded and couldn't pick where he wanted to go (even though he worked the system and got where he wanted anyways). To me that makes a ton of difference.

But its all the past now and who really cares Brett we thank you for all the great years in Green Bay and the things you did for this team and we will see his number in the ring. Some people are still butt hurt over him going to the Vikes I say so what, I didn't care where he played.
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

Aaron Rodgers does like to prove people wrong. He's said it a few times. He uses that as motivation, a chip on his shoulder if you will. When he dropped to 24, he said he wanted to prove the Packers made a good choice, told Ted he wouldn't regret that pick and he'd do what he could to prove others should have taken him sooner.

I don't think there's anything wrong with wanting to prove others wrong if it's in a positive way. It might not be healthy, but it's a lot how I've lived my life. No one has ever said i could do anything, other than fail miserably.

My main point was that he proved people wrong long ago. To most of the people on this board, we could tell throughout his first season that this dude was legit. Sure, the record didn't show it, but close observers could see there was much more at fault than Rodger's alone.

I just think he's long ago proven the 'haters' wrong if you will, and at this point, he just wants to prove to people that he truly is one of the greats. He'll never make everyone believe that but the few that weren't won over a season or so ago should definitely be now. I'm not sure what else the dude needs to prove other than becoming a multiple super bowl winner, which isn't necessary for him to be "one of the all time greats" at this point anyway.

Reminded me of something Aaron Rodgers said, lol.

(on no longer being overlooked)
I guess I ran out of motivation, huh? You know what, Im always looking for challenges. I think the challenge now goes to repeating, scrutinizing this season, finding ways to get better. Obviously, being a perfectionist and having a quarterback coach who is as well, theres going to be plenty of time to work on things and plenty of things to work on.

I thought it was Driver right away. And btw, there IS no guarantee Donald Driver will be back next year. Could be Tauscher too. Both were "Favre guys."
I also think Rodgers does use this whole "proving people wrong" thing a bit too much. He dropped in the draft. Everyone talked shit. Then the situation with Brett. It just seems like he holds onto it a bit much. But then, why shouldn't he? I don't fault him for that, per se.
Favre should start by apologizing to Ted Thompson for trying to dictate to Ted Thompson how he should do his job, who he should hire as coach, what personell he should acquire. He should then apologize to Mike McCarthy for undermining the coach, the offensive coordinator and trying to dictate what the offensive philosophy should be and what plays should be run.
He should then apologize to the entire franchise and fan base for spreading the playbook around to opposing teams. He was like a bitter 14 year old girl.
He could even go back and apologize to Chmura, because if you think Favre was doing anything different than Chewy was at the time, you'd be mistaken.

"nerdmann" wrote:

I think no I KNOW Tauch is not a Favre guy

Got good insight that when Brett was traded---Mark was at a bar and pretended to slam a book shut and said..We finally closed the book on Brett

And you shouldnt toss out stuff like Chewy and say Brett did it too, w/o real proof...

Mind you Chewy was with high school girls..Not WOMEN which is what I think you were getting at

"longtimefan" wrote:

Favre did plenty. And Chewy was never a pillhead.

He did plenty of what? Be a man and put your words into a post about what exactly you are insinuating. And do I understand that you are saying a man with an addiction to pain killers who did something about it is even comparable to the type of evil that Chmura represented? Or are you just back to being a troll for trolls' sake?

Hyperbole to you maybe, so yes, please sit it out then. A grown man found drunk in a hot tub at 3:30am with underage girls while in his underwear is evil in my book. That's no exaggeration but court fact, so yeah, maybe your definition of evil may be different, but no hyperbole there.

Eh, we're all evil. Some of us are just more stupid and have less self-control than others. Fame is like cocaine to these people. They get all high on themselves and start to think that the rules don't apply to them.
