Hi. I quoted your post and asked for your proof, because you said this guy was "making shit up" then you said some other crap that you also have no proof about. so where is it?

the rest of my post was clearly directed to whoever posted above me, which i stated, it was not directed toward you.

so still waiting.

OK, here ya go:

Brett Favre told Ed Werder of ESPN in an e-mail on Monday that he thinks his old team is "by far" the best team left in the playoffs.

"[Packers QB] Aaron [Rodgers] is the best QB and the receiving corps is the best ever, maybe," Favre said. "But [defensive coordinator] Dom [Capers] and the defense gets the MVP award at this stage."

You also missed this:

Mooch said this about Favre:
He said a couple of weeks ago that he thinks the Packers are the best team in the Playoffs and they will win the Super Bowl, Mariucci said of Favre. We have to remember hes still got a lot of friends and former teammates on the Packers.

I was running late to work and can't find where I got that from but it was a reputable site.

For the record, I will always be a Brett Favre fan. I don't care about his personal issues, etc. He never killed or raped anyone. All I remember from my childhood of being a Packers fan was losing. From '76-Favre, we had 2 winning seasons. 2.

Now Aaron's my favorite QB and the torched has been passed. Aaron will get his 2nd SB ring within a few years and will retire with 4+. We got the best team in the NFL and this is the beginning of a dynasty. I don't understand why people have to come up with drama.

Once again, not taking this out on you, but on the original author.

I'll look for quotes where Aaron praises Favre but I imagine they'll be harder to find as everything Favre has ever said has been recorded and Aaron has gotten ignored by the media up until the SB win.

I don't see any drama here. Nothing new is being said, just old arguments being rehashed on both sides. My dislike of Favre has nothing to do with his off-the-field indiscretions. Hell, I've defended both him and Chmura (among many others -- we haven't even begun to discuss this juicy little story  on this forum yet) when I felt they were unjustly condemned in the court of public opinion. My dislike of him had everything to do with my dislike for his on-the-field style. It was a personal preference, and I've never claimed otherwise. (Likewise, I personally prefer Rodgers', P. Manning's, and Brady's styles, even though I can't stand Manning's on-field persona and I don't think Brady is as talented as everyone makes him out to be). It was only later that I found out Favre's on-field meltdowns were a reflection of his real-life personality. But so what? The thing to which I objected was Packers' fans burying their heads in the sand about his behavior (and mistakes on the field), the irrationally exuberant media coverage, and Favre being treated as some sort of saint in Green Bay.

Likewise, I'm not hesitant to call Rodgers out on his mistakes, and if it turns out he's a scumbag off the field, I'm not going to sweep it under the rug simply because I admire his accomplishments on the field.

I love watching the titans on the turf as much as anyone, but I don't think their athletic prowess merits them some sort of exemption on the character front. I don't think we should allow our admiration for them to blind us to the reality of who they are: flawed human beings who struggle the same ways we do to keep on the straight and narrow.

By the way, the Packers won the Super Bowl!

Wow The Packers win The Super Bowl and the most talk of any issue still involves Brett Favre.

My only comment is this, and I have not read the previous 4 pages of posts, but probably could guess what is being said.

I was a huge fan of Bart Starr, he was my boyhood hero.
Bart had his controversies also with The Packer organization, albiet it was when he was HC. My respect for him as a Player on The Packers never wained.

When Brett Favre came along he did not make me forget about Bart Starr, Brett played his heart out when in Green Bay, those are the memories I will keep close.

Now The Packers have Aaron Rogers, man what a performance he put on at The Super Bowl.

I would never had believed I would see another QB play for The Green Bay Packers that would take them to and win another SuperBowl, and damn does the future look bright IN PackerLand.

That being said, Aaron Rogers will not make me forget about Brett Favre or Bart Starr.

It's Aaron's time now, he will build his legacy along with GJ,CM3,Raji and the rest. I am glad I have a chance to watch.

APPRECIATE THE FACT THAT THERE HAVE BEEN 3 WINNING SB QB'S IN PACKER HISTORY!!!!!
I was addicted to The Hokey Pokey, but I turned myself around!

So, wheres your proof of your statements? as far as im concerned this post is just as much "making shit up" as the article is (according to your claims).

also to the guy posting above me, what he is insinuating in his post is that the green bay locals knew all about what favre did back in the day. and let's just say loyalty to his wife/marriage was never high on his priority list (or so i've read over the years), so this news about him sexting other women doesn't come as much of a surprise to them.

"zombieslayer" wrote:

Wait a fucking minute! I said absolutely nothing about the sexting and his marriage, etc. I only talked about the "bad blood" between Aaron and Brett.

Brett rooted for the Packers in the SB and said Aaron is the best QB. He's been quoted at saying that.

I'm not talking at all about the sexting and marriage problems. That's a completely different topic that I care absolutely nothing about.

Mooch said this about Favre:

He said a couple of weeks ago that he thinks the Packers are the best team in the Playoffs and they will win the Super Bowl, Mariucci said of Favre. We have to remember hes still got a lot of friends and former teammates on the Packers.

"gbguy20" wrote:

Brett didn't say he would root for the Pack. He didn't say "I hope they win" in any form. He just said we were the better team and Rodgers was the better QB. It happens to be true. He actively rooted against us when he told Peppers to beat the Packers. You are giving him credit for things he didn't say. As far as we know Mooch could have cleaned it up to spin it a bit. Favre could have put it as "I hate them F***ers, I hope those a**holes lose, but they probably won't just to spite me."

See the difference, he can admit we have a better team and still want us to lose.

Personally, if I read a story that Favre was sabotaging my first year as a starter, I would not like him. I would call that grounds for bad blood. Even if you completely disregard that article, it doesn't mean Rodgers has.
I want to go out like my Grandpa did. Peacefully in his sleep.

We have to stay on a topic? I don't know that. Just the other day I was walking down the road when a dog ran out of chicken coop and I asked him if he knew why we had to stay topic. He scratched his ear and licked himself and replied that he wasn't really sure. I should go ask the wise old owl. Just as I was about to thank him the farmer whose chicken he was killing came out and blew him into two pieces. I decided to keep on walking before I was mistaken for a dog-chicken pimp.

and it continues on.

The reports this week that Brett Favre wants to bury the hatchet with Aaron Rodgers has one player whos been teammates with both of them wondering what took Favre so long.

Charles Woodson said today on ESPNs Jim Rome Is Burning that if Favre wants to reach out, thats fine. But Rodgers should get to savor his status as the reigning Super Bowl Most Valuable Player without any Favre-related distractions.

This deal with Brett, Im not sure what thats all about, Woodson said. I know hes had numerous opportunities to reach out. Why now? I dont know. But for A-Rod, he doesnt have to do anything. Hes a champion, he needs to enjoy this moment and not even worry about all that.

One Packers player told Mike Freeman of CBS that he thinks the bitterness between Rodgers and Favre runs deep enough that if Favre did call, Rodgers might not answer. Woodson said he thinks Rodgers would talk to Favre, although hes not sure it would be the friendliest of conversations.

I dont know the extent of what their relationship was, Woodson said. If Brett called him, hed probably take the call. Whats said? I dont know.

None of us knows what would be said between Favre and Rodgers at this point. But wed all like to hear it.

I'm sure no one cares how I feel, but as a longtime packer fan I can honestly I dislike Favre now. I hope he does not go in the HOF as a Packer. I am sorry, but that is how I FEEL. And I used to like the guy so much I almost named my first born Brett. So (to stay on topic) this Packer disagrees with the premise that Packer Fans will forgive Favre, because this one sure as hell won't!!!!!! BTW, I am Bulls fan and MJ left the Bulls and played for other teams, and he did it the rigth way. Bryce Paup left the Packers and I still think the world of him. Its just the way Brett left that bothers me.
