I fail to understand the issue with it.. I as a heterosexual male have attended gentleman's clubs in my youth.. been attracted to the talent and felt no urge to act upon that attraction.. I would guess it may be the same in nature in the locker room.

News flash.. A man can love another man in ways he can't love a woman.. but that does not mean he is homosexual.

Psalms 133 also mentions in it's first verse "Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!" I honestly think both of those scriptures make a great statement on how having a fellowship of 'brethren', rather than anything being homosexual, is important in the lifes of Christians.

Based upon Christian faith.. every human has their judgment day.. and that day is not of human judgment.. yet we feel the need to judge here on earth.

The tools (bible/good book/word of Lord) are available for each human.. they are readily available in all faiths and languages.. open for each to read, understand and make their choices upon.. I fail to see why we feel the need to judge.

Telling someone they are wrong based on the gray vague and contradicted passages in the bible seems to me as the wrong act.

Formo.. sorry if it seemed I was flagging you.. not by intent... just the whole a homosexual shouldn't be in the military based on the bible verse.

Another reason to defeat such an Ideal.. is the whole church separate from the state debate.. lol.

Yet another point of that the bible in this discussion, the original topic shouldn't be used. Can't use the bible as reference in one aspect yet deny it in others.

How would you feel having to dress in the locker rooms with women? Why do we have seperate locker/bath rooms for men and women? Shouldn't that also apply to gays? why/why not?

I don't know but if Jennifer Aniston was in a foxhole with me I might be just a tad distracted from trying to keep my head from getting blown off.

I've been around a few gay folk's and worked with some too. I think it's no problem. At my last job, this guy Travis was flaming and proud. He was funny as heck too. I would act foolish in front of him, bending over slowly and saying 'ya like that huh'. The hypocritical thing about it is, I wouldn't have done that to a woman, but with him ... no big deal.


Edit, oh about being distracted by whomever is next to you. If you're a soldier, it shouldn't matter. Soldiers are human and susceptible to human nature, sure, but bottom line, you're a soldier, your duty comes first.

There are many situations in life in which nudity occurs that should not provoke sexual arousal. As far as I'm concerned, if such situations do provoke such a response in you, that is a personal issue that indicates you should avoid placing yourself in such situations. For example, I work in the medical field. As part of my duties, I have had to see many people -- male and female -- naked. Never have I been the least bit turned on while performing these tasks, even while performing genital exams or inserting Foley (urinary) catheters. The same principle applies to homosexuals. Any gay man (or woman) who would find himself inappropriately aroused in a shower facility or foxhole does not belong in the military. Call me idealistic, but just as few straights are prone to getting randy in the field (though there are always the bizarre few who fuck in the port-a-potties), I doubt that after several days without showers, all that many gays are burning to dip their dicks in the filthy, sweaty ass that surrounds them.

Not only is it normal, Zombieslayer, it's also situational. When my wife and I are in an amorous mood, her nudity turns me on. But just seeing her walk about the house naked (say, while cleaning) doesn't give me a hardon. Neither does seeing her nude in the shower. Viewing her nude body in the labor and delivery room wouldn't do it for me either. It's the same reason why pornography doesn't turn me on -- unless I'm getting some myself, I don't find nudity arousing.

In the end, it's the heart, mind and soul I want to make love to. The body is secondary. It all feels the same in the dark.
