Job Offer, to relocate · PACKERSHOME

I've worked for the same company for 2 1/2 years as a programmer / analyst. About a year ago we were bought out by JBS who believes in centralized IT, meaning all IT in one location. I had a brief meeting about an hour ago where they made me an offer to relocate.

I wish I knew. This past week has been extremely difficult for me, then this is dropped on my lap.

The offer they made is awfully generous with a contract as well so I'd be assured of a job for a decent amount of time.

I'd have to bring Keiana with and send her back on the Summer to her mom's, or vice versa or ... I don't know.

I've never lived outside of Wisconsin. I've been in Green Bay for more than 20 years of my life.

Just do what college football/basketball coaches do:

Threaten to leave for a better paying job, take a few weeks to [strike]negotiate a new deal[/strike] decide what you want to do, then sign a new contract with your current employer.

Yes. When? No clue. The protocol has been if the employee is offered a job and refuses to relocate, they finish out the year and get a severance package.
