The college system is terrific, but the NFL has to much ego and a NIH syndrome so they will never adapt.

If the starters can't break the tie in 75 minutes, yes. And if it means never seeing a tie score again, yes.
I'm also in favor of your two point play try. Reminds me of what I think I see in college.

I want something more like a shootout, where you have one play to go _x_ amount of yards to get in the end zone.
And like, start with each team gets 3 to 5 chances start... if they're still tied, then then each team keeps getting one extra until they're no longer tied.
And while we're at it, I'm not sure an Overtime Results should give you a full win or full loss.
Let's say a team is 4-2 and then has their next game.
A regular timed win would make them 5-2, a regular time loss would make them 4-3 and a tie would make them 4.5 - 2.5.
I'm thinking an over time result should only count partly.
Like with an over time win, they would be 4.75 - 2.25
Meanwhile an overtime loss would be 4.25 - 2.75
That way two over time wins (1.5) would equal a full regular time win and a tie. (1.5). Note, I'm theory, ties could made to be extremely hard or after five attempts if both teams are still tied, or maybe you keep going until there is a winner.
I just think there should be some reward, for beating the other team in regular time instead of taking it to overtime, and this MIGHT lead to more teams going for two to win the game in regular time instead of taking the tie into overtime, which would be more exciting.
