You lost me at 'free pass', sorry not worth continuing to read after that bullshit comment.

Kevin, I got utmost respect for you for this website. Love the thing. But you can be quite stubborn about your use of the English language.

Check your quoted quotes of me. You suggested I was giving him a free pass. I addressed it and you continue to with 'looks like your giving him a free'.

I will say it again. I am NOT giving him a free pass. I mean, that notion is moronic in my opinion. (I do see HOW you came to it from what I said, I am not saying you're a moron) I don't believe in anyone getting a free pass. The closest I ever came to that was Ted on the 4 - 12 year.

Again, I am not giving Obama a free pass. I don't think Bush was a good president for us as a country. I feel Obama will be better than Bush. I don't know if he'll be considered a great president.

zombieslayer, I am terrible with my use of the English Language, why do you think reading Rourke's comments throw me for such a damn loop??

I was just going to say, "dhazer, I will give you an applaud point if you fix the thread heading." I'm getting annoyed looking at it.

I'm pretty sure that that is a problem that we all run into. I'll one up you. When I first started posting here and you guys where talking about Rourke, I was wondering why the conversation always gravitated to a species of dinosaurs.

dhazer has a point, it's pretty un-American not to take a ridiculous amount of vacation days. GWB was at Camp David 487 days and at his Crawford Ranch 490 days during his time as president. I don't know why Obama feels he has to work so hard. Maybe because he's a communist socialist liberal hippie Muslim.

Your words here are a little ambiguous, so I'm not sure in which direction your sarcasm is aimed: are you saying Americans take too much or too little vacation? Americans actually take the fewest vacation days of any industrialized nation in the world, fewer even than Japan (as of 2009). The average American working full time receives 12 days of paid vacation a year but only takes 6 of them. Compare that to, say, Germany, where by law everyone gets a minimum of 25 days of paid vacation yearly!

Americans also have the least sex of any surveyed nation (less even than Japanese, and that's really sad), but that's another topic.

Zombie.....the ONLY reason Clinton balanced the budget was the Republicans ruling congress and pressuring him to do so...as well as the public pressure that was filling his sails.

Look, I applaud Clinton for working with the opposition....even though it was as much about political survival as anything....but the balanced budget and welfare reform are Republican victories under a Democratic President who read the polls and responded accordingly.

Now, all this said, I have a deep seated loathe for all these arrogant fucks who are trashing this country....both parties have screwed us, I just happen to find one is much more dangerous and irresponsible than the other.

Now, as far as Obama and Memorial Day? This is a turd acting like a turd...a man whose words and actions inform the world he has no great love for this country, and a particular disdain for the military that has afforded us unparallelled (until recently) freedom, prosperity, and which has saved the world from itself more than once in recent history.

Stop thinking so hard. It was in response to dhazer's post, nothing more, and the tenuous connection made in the post about traveling "home" and failing as POTUS. I'm fully aware of the vacations many European countries are able to take. I've been lucky enough to go on a lot of vacations, many overseas, and they always scoff at the short duration of them ("Only 1 week?? What's the point??").

I'll give Clinton credit for the bills he signed and the spending increases he vetoed. Yes, Republicans in Congress deserve credit too, but let's not forget that he signed the spending cuts. Welfare to work too was his idea. That was a huge spending cut that if you remember the time period, even Republicans couldn't get that passed.

So, what do you base this on?

Is Chicago less American than Arlington?

And what other words and actions are we talking about, that show that he isn't a patriotic American?

This sounds an awful lot like something that is just jammed in some people's heads, based on nothing, but which won't go away until pictures of Obama giving head to Washington pop up on the internet.
