I agree with Rock.

The draft is one of my favourite "Game Days" of the NFL season, and I do consider it as the 17th game of the season for The Packers and Raiders.

I was blessed to have attended the draft in New York, I was also blessed to be in Pittsburgh at the time of the draft and go to their draft party at the stadium.

The thing that pisses me off about this year is that there is THREE DAYS OF The Draft, and that is going to really take away from a draft party in NFL TEAM VENUES....

I guess the NFL feels it is all about T.V. Ratings now and not the Fan Experience.

RP, what's it like being at the draft?

I've always assumed it must be a pretty awful experience. At home you get to see Eisen, Mayock etc chatting away filling the time between picks, you get to hear their reactions at 'reaches' etc. On TV there are also reams of highlight footage of each pick after they're announced. At the draft itself, are you not spending hours watching an empty stage?

As for the thre day thing, it means I now have to take Froday off work and stay up crazy late Thursday and Friday night. But I assume for you guys in the US timezones it gives you a whole extra day to consume even more draft coverage. Personally I prefer the previous set up.

I hear split is likely to benefit teams picking high in round 2 or who have a lot of round 2 picks (Pats).

If I went I would definitely have radio coverage in my ear most of the time I'm sure. Hell, I have one in during most actual games even. It really helps to know what's going on with player injuries and other interesting news that's hard to know about otherwise.

I would usually say this, but I'm not sure about the new setup. I always liked getting up early Saturday and Sunday morning and preparing to watch the NFL draft. Now it runs three days. I'm not sure how that is going to go.

Nor do I. I was thinking about the prior drafts.

yeah I JUST found out the new setup and...wtf?!

I love my weekend drafts where I don't leave the house at all and get ass sores from not leaving my seat. I don't like this one bit!

One more week. Man, I'm not sure what the exact broadcast times are, but if it's primetime it's likely gonna be very early morning to almost midday. I've already planned ahead and am going to call in sick next Friday.

Can't wait, so pumped up.

I'd have to agree with you. Draft Weekend was an unofficial holiday in my household, starting with the draft in 2001 to present. Now, it's all messed up. While it'll be kinda neat to have the first round on a Thursday night, the rest of the nights...meh.

It's hard enough waiting between Green Bay's picks, but now they've gone and spaced it out so completely that it's going to feel like an ordeal to get through.

Here's hoping they go back to normal next year (probably not going to happen, but I can hope at least).

How long did the first round take last year, anyway? They can't possibly let this thing go deep into the night over in the US while people have to go to work the next day, right?

I'm hoping that it's no longer than 4 hours.... Since it starts at 1:30, that'd be late enough for me. Lol.

Doesn't it run about 6 hours? 12 minutes a team times 32 teams would be nearly 6 1/2 hours.

Ok, so 2:30 AM... pumped up. Will catch a few hours sleep before, and then open up a bag of chips, a couple of beers, some cola, and just relax.

Martha Careful (21-Dec) : I think MLF want Love to look past the end half issues, and feel good about his play. Our coaches generally keep a very positive tone.
beast (21-Dec) : I think a great running game will do that for most QBs

Mucky Tundra (16-Dec) : Okay I'm glad to know it's not just something happening to me lol
Mucky Tundra (16-Dec) : Zero, did you copy the Packers uniforms from last night and white out the board?
beast (16-Dec) : Oh crap, is the board going to the Winter Warning Uniforms too?!? It's all white on white right now!
Zero2Cool (16-Dec) : WR Odell Beckham Jr is officially a free agent after clearing waivers.
Zero2Cool (16-Dec) : Packers are 6th in sacks.
Zero2Cool (16-Dec) : RB David Montgomery will undergo season-ending knee surgery.
Mucky Tundra (16-Dec) : Dan Campbell on onside kick with 12 minutes left: In hindsight, wish I didn’t do that
