Personally this worries me more than the Peppers deal.. this would replace the threat out of the backfield they lost in Taylor.

Some think he is washed up and done.. it will be interesting to see if they ink them how it plays out.

Tomlinson will visit Vikings Thursday
Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on March 9, 2010 4:21 PM ET
L. Tomlinson2.jpgMinnesota's "apparent" interest in LaDainian Tomlinson is very real; SI's Jim Trotter reports that Tomlinson will visit the Vikings Thursday.

The week since Tomlinson was released has probably been humbling for the former Chargers running back. He's had to wait in line while Chester Taylor got a big deal. Even Justin Fargas has received more interest.

Minnesota is a perfect fit worth waiting for. Tomlinson could chase his ring alongside another classy person at quarterback without taking a pounding.

Trotter writes that LT2 has no problem "sharing the backfield" but he wouldn't really be sharing in Minnesota. He would be a clear backup that can help on passing downs.

Just making the visit to Minnesota is a good sign that Tomlinson understands what his role would be.

I don't know why, but I'm not worried about LT in Minnesota. My gut feeling is that he - at this point - isn't the threat that Taylor is. For one, he doesn't seem to have the quick moves anymore, and he really lived on those. I do think it's meant to put a little fear into AP, since Tomlinson's more of a goal-line guy at this stage and that would cut into Peterson's TDs a bit.

Certainly not washed up and done - but not too scary, IMO.

I would fear it bigtime, we have seen what happens to legends that get kicked off their main team, it gives them extra motivation. Also think what LT could teach AP thats the scariest part i think.
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

I'm kinda torn on LT. I mean, does he still have 'it'? Or is he truly washed up? We won't really know until this coming season.. I guess as long as he's classy about playing 'second fiddle' to AP, I'm happy with it. Honestly, I thought the Vikings were more interested in Westbrook.

Thought I'd throw some stuff in there for the Vikings..

- Signed Rhys Lloyd. Potential kick off specialist.
- LaDainian Tomlinson to visit the Vikings Thursday, March 11.
- Resigned CB Benny Sapp.

Why doesnt the pack want to pick up LT? ... he looked a bit better then green ...

Heck could get in on more plays then green did also. Especially since we pretty much cut out jackson from the lineup.

Good question. Probably was a signed AP jersey.

Lions are really turning over their roster... for the better remains to be seen.

49ers trade Shaun Hill to Lions

Posted by Michael David Smith on March 14, 2010 2:17 PM ET

The Detroit Lions have a new backup quarterback, acquiring Shaun Hill in a trade with the San Francisco 49ers.

Matt Barros of the Sacramento Bee reports that the 49ers sent Hill to the Lions for a seventh-round draft pick in 2011.

For the Lions, that's a small price to play for a quarterback who provides some insurance and should be a good veteran presence for starter Matthew Stafford. Lions offensive coordinator Scott Linehan previously worked with Hill in Minnesota when Hill was on the Vikings' roster.

For the 49ers, a 2011 seventh-round pick is better than nothing, considering that it became obvious Hill was on the way out when they signed David Carr.

Hill has won 10 games in 16 starts for the 49ers over the last three years. The Lions have won nine games, total, over the last three years.

That news does indeed fit this thread better, Shawn. Delete mine if you have time/want it gone, Z2C.

Updated the list again.

Damn. Shaun Hill's Wikipedia page already reflects this development. I swear, some people have no life. ;)

But hey, this trade is a step up for the guy. Remember, he was an undrafted free agent in 2002. Now he's worth a 7th-round pick. 😃
