Last I checked all the good teams haven't done any additions. Bears added Peppers - Chestor Taylor - Manumaleuna

The only upgrade they got is probably on defense in the pass rush, either then that I don't see the Bears to much upgraded. They still haven't address the need of a WR for Cutler.

On top of everything they don't have there 2 top picks.

Taylor won't bring to much to the table all tho it's a good thing he left Minny, that's one less of there soldiers.

You can't be in cap hell when there's no cap, but you could be in a disadvantageous position if a cap is reimposed in a subsequent year. I am sure grandfather clauses will be implemented to cover such situations if the cap is renewed.

And this is a Chicago based outfit... waiting for Peppers to backfire on them.

http://www.profootballweekly.com/2010/03/08/early-winners-and-losers-in-free-agency

Early losers

Bears: It has been hailed as the biggest free-agency day in team history, with the team landing Peppers, Taylor and TE Brandon Manumaleuna in one shocking, fell swoop. But Peppers is a giant risk given his age, his inconsistency and the fact that he's not a leader. That's a lot of dough for a very talented role player. Taylor should fit well in Mike Martz's system, but he's not a player to build a game plan around. The Bears' excessive spending wreaked of some desperation for a staff that is in playoffs-or-bust mode.

Personally this worries me more than the Peppers deal.. this would replace the threat out of the backfield they lost in Taylor.

Some think he is washed up and done.. it will be interesting to see if they ink them how it plays out.

Tomlinson will visit Vikings Thursday

L. Tomlinson2.jpgMinnesota's "apparent" interest in LaDainian Tomlinson is very real; SI's Jim Trotter reports that Tomlinson will visit the Vikings Thursday.

The week since Tomlinson was released has probably been humbling for the former Chargers running back. He's had to wait in line while Chester Taylor got a big deal. Even Justin Fargas has received more interest.

Minnesota is a perfect fit worth waiting for. Tomlinson could chase his ring alongside another classy person at quarterback without taking a pounding.

Trotter writes that LT2 has no problem "sharing the backfield" but he wouldn't really be sharing in Minnesota. He would be a clear backup that can help on passing downs.

Just making the visit to Minnesota is a good sign that Tomlinson understands what his role would be.

Though it would be even gooder to see what happens to Kevin if the Vikings brought Barry Sanders out of retirement. 🙂

I don't know why, but I'm not worried about LT in Minnesota. My gut feeling is that he - at this point - isn't the threat that Taylor is. For one, he doesn't seem to have the quick moves anymore, and he really lived on those. I do think it's meant to put a little fear into AP, since Tomlinson's more of a goal-line guy at this stage and that would cut into Peterson's TDs a bit.

Certainly not washed up and done - but not too scary, IMO.
