It's my birthday today on the 7th.

Had a great baseball win in the morning.

Was going to buy a road bike for about $1300 today at midday.

And now I'm stuck at home with my car out of commission after being hit in the afternoon.

Fun.

Happy Birthday!

Sorry to hear about your accident, you didn't run into a Kangaroo did you?
Reminds me of this story.....

There are reports of a new problem in Australia. Some of the kangaroos have developed a thirst for revenge against the traffic that keeps knocking them down.
Drivers have reported that they'll pass a herd of roos that are hopping along peacefully, but as soon as they've passed them, the roos suddenly change direction, and veer right towards the vehicle. The driver then has to drive as quickly as possible to escape the rampaging marsupials.
Drivers are being urged to keep an eye on their veer-roo mirror at all times.

Seriously, hope you are OK and that your birthday got better.
By the way, have you finished college yet? The world needs more Engineers!

Engineers vs. God

One day a couple of engineers got together and decided that man had come such a long way that they no longer needed God.
One of them decided to go and tell the Lord that they were done with Him. The engineer walked up to God and said, "God, we've decided that we no longer need you. Due to our superior expertise we're to the point that we can clone people and do so many miraculous things, so why don't you just go on and get lost."

God listened patiently to the man and after the engineer was done talking, God said, "Very well! How about this? Let's have a man-making contest."
The man replied, "Okay, great!" But God added, "Now we're going to do this just like I did back in the old days with Adam."
The engineers said, "Sure, no problem." He bent down and grabbed himself a handful of dirt.

God just looked at him and said, "Oh no, assholeGo get your own damn dirt!"

Happy Birthday, and sorry for your troubles- At least you are not badly hurt, so there is some fortune in there...

Thanks guys. Bit of a sore knee (probably from sliding in baseball), otherwise don't feel too bad.

The accident was the classic motorcycle behind a turning truck scenario where they teach you not to turn before knowing what's behind the car that's turning in the opposite lane. Except, the other driver didn't check, and I had to swerve 2 m into a pedestrian island just to avoid taking a pretty big hit to my driver's side door. The rear right quarter panel is smashed and the wheel is bent with like 5 degrees of negative camber.

Oh and VR, half a year to go, but I've finished my engineering degree, so I'm no longer a liar 😉.

Ha, you remember my comment about being an "Engineering student".
You were just somewhat premature in your on screen nom de guerre.

Good to hear that you got your degree, civil or structural engineering if I remember correctly.
Congratulations.

However, there is one more very important thing that you must accomplish before you are truly accepted as an Engineer. It is extremely imperative that you do this as soon as possible in order to achieve any credibility as an Engineer.
For without this next step, you will be shunned by all of the Professional Engineering Societies and licensing bodies world-wide . Cut loose and ignored, if you will.

As an Engineer you must cast aside your cheesehead ways! The two are totally incompatible.
What it boils down to is this....
Being an Engineer and a cheesehead is like saying, "As an Engineer, I'm an intelligent guy. But when it comes to NFL fandom, I'm about as sharp as the leading edge of a marble."

Oh VR, I'm sure you can understand that engineering is merely a profession to me, the Packers are for life!
