Cool thing is all 3 guys are different. So whomever will do the best might get the shoe in.

Zambo they mentioned as the sack master; again this is college but heck Id love it if our team ranked very high on the sack amount (and I could see that happening with a someone real good opposite matthews).

ie one guy is really strong, another guy is big and played DT, then there is the nimble lighter guy that is the sackmaster ...
and then there is brad jones ...

I thought jones was about average at the position; and to be honest I am hoping we have someone that is great. We all have heard the OLBers in a 3-4 get all the glory while the Dline guys take the heat.

I was really hoping wed draft someone like kindle (my first pick); and I wouldnt of minded hughes (but I would of taken bulaga over hughes also) ... still was a ton of talent at the LB position we could of gotten. Heck all these 'light' DEs.

again I am just glad that it sounds like we have some nice competition at the position. Who knows maybe like you said brad steps up and beats em all out and he becomes better.

I think its a little silly to say anything other than Jones earned the job, as a 7th round pick he fought off established starting OLB Braddy Poppinga, Pop may not be the best OLB out there, but the fact remains that in of itself is an accomplishment considering how we got the guy. Did he beat out Kampman, no but i dont know how fair of a fight that was, Kampman was sort of penciled in as the starter there and i think you can make an arguement that Jones outplayed him, or at the very least was a much more natural OLB back there.

If Kampman stayed healthy, Jones never sees the field.

Yes. This could be a problem. I'll have to put his picture up in my compound and make sure my sharpshooters are aware that he's a good guy.

As for the 3 LBs, Knicky looks the most intriguing. I wouldn't mind having a quick guy who gets to the QB, even if his run stopping skills are sub par. A sack specialist, something we haven't had since KGB.
