I don't buy into the zone scheme athlete idea. A good player is a good player. And we supposedly run a hybrid zone blocking scheme. I don't think any of our players we have fit that idea except Wells and Colledge.

What I meant to imply is that we have our line-men cut block.

That means they have to throw their bodies around. If you're close to 350 pounds and 34 years old, like Adams, it can get pretty brutal having to regularly throw your body around like that.

From that end, I wonder if he'd be a fit scheme wise. Maybe as a back-up he could work, but not sure we need him as a back-up at this point in time.

Settle down buddy. I know what you meant. Clifton doesn't cut block and he is the same age. And I know what a cut block is and I know about physics. I am also allowed my opinion too. And you did rip the other guy pretty bad. So let's just move on.

Hey, I'm not attacking you for having an opinion. That's the fun part in this place is you hear other people's opinions, engage with them.

For what it's worth: I did not mean to imply you don't know a cut block / its drawbacks for older linemen. In light of your reply, I wanted to clarify my remarks about Adams not being the right "athlete" for the scheme. Nothing more, really. If it furthered your engagement with my opinion great. If not, well then there are other threads.

My reply to you in particular... if you could hear my voice, it'd be much more of a lighter tone - engaging in a cordial fashion. Perhaps I was a bit blunt on starpass, but honestly if you want to state your opinion on a forum then do so in a manner that fully articulates what you want to get across.

I do agree on your opinion about him being too old, and perhaps out of our price range. If he is still around after the draft, then maybe he can be had for a bit cheaper. But by that time, there may not be any fit for him on the team at all....

@all_about_da_packers You're made out to be this bully in this thread, and your posts have been the only ones that contain any real thought in them. I found this thread amusing to say the least. Even if it is a repeat thread.

I started a thread on this too. LOL. However, I'm officially making a prediction here: Ted Thompson will solidify the LT position by training camp. Most likely through the draft. MARK IT DOWN!

packerfanoutwest (23h) : JW is done......stick a fork in him

dfosterf (16-Apr) : Trade, cut or keep
dfosterf (16-Apr) : that from Jaire
dfosterf (16-Apr) : My guess is the Packers floated the concept of a reworked contract via his agent and agent got a f'
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Yes, and that is why I think Rob worded it how he did. Rather than say "agent"
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Same laws apply. Agent must present such an offer to Jaire. Cannot accept or reject without presenting it
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : I'm thinking that is why Rob worded it how he did.
dfosterf (16-Apr) : The Packers can certainly still make the offer to the agent
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Laws of agency and definition of fiduciary responsibility
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Jaire is open to a reduced contract without Jaire's permission
dfosterf (16-Apr) : The agent would arguably violate the law if he were to tell the Packers
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : That someone ... likely the agent.
