5 YEARS OF TED THOMPSON'S MEDIOCRE BULLSHIT IS ENOUGH!!!!

Ted needs to go now!!!! He can take that no-emotion, let's stick to the game plan no matter how bad it is working, non-adjustable so called HC with him.

Why wait till the end of the year, personally I am tired of the fans whining and complaining during the game because IT IS THE SAME CRAP EVERY WEEK.

There is no quick fix, but there are 8 games left for someone who actually has a new plan to build for next year.

As to who we should REPLACE McCarthy with I believe its obvious. JON GRUDEN this young team needs some serious discipline and direction, Gruden is the master of both. We have the talent we just arent executing. The O-Line might as well be drunk the way they have been blocking.

FIRE: McCarthy HIRE: Gruden

Ted also needs to dip into the free agency pool and add some veteran leader type players. More leaders are needed on this team. In the glory days, there were lots of leaders...now, there seems to be none.

I completely agree. Rodgers is a decent leader but its hard to listen to someone who's on his back more often than he's standing during games. We need some serious leaders only problem is not sure who's really out there for that. The O-Line needs an anchor just not sure theres anyone out there that we can pick up. The D seems to be ok just our Free Safety are NOT play makers...

Leaders on a team cannot be underestimated.

In the glory days, guys like Reggie, Butler and Frankie were leaders. There were many others to be sure. By going with a build through the draft mentality, Ted Thompson has taken the veteran presence out of the picture.

Football's a team game - teams need leaders. Instead of valuing special teams play, Ted and Mike should have put an emphasis on leadership ability.

I was able to catch glimpses of the game against Tampa and I am kind of happy that I didn't get to watch the entire game or something of value might be broke in my house.

Anyways, I saw a lack of discipline and leadership. The coaching staff as a whole has none of it. There is no fire on the sideline and there is definitely no fire on the field. In my view, that all starts with the coaching staff. Mike McCarthy should be done if not now, by the end of this year. Eat his salary and boot his ass.

As a fan, I am tired of the mediocrity. I have played college ball under bad coaches and it never turned out well. (0-10) (2-8) (0-10) (3-7). We had good players and horrible coaching. My (3-7) season was under the coach that is currently coaching now and they are (8-1) going into next week, having to win for the university's FIRST conference championship since 1987.

^^I kind of went on a rant there but that is to show it all starts with your coaching staff. You can have great players (we do) but you can't do much with a mediocre coaching staff.

As for who they would bring in to replace MM...I said before I would want Gruden or if it was ever possible, Tony Dungy. I will bite my tongue for something like this to happen. Both these candidates will bring that fire to the field and the sidelines. Honestly, I don't give a shit if Gruden's past players called him an asshole. Is a head football coach supposed to be your best friend all the time? He is a winner and that is what the Packers coaching staff is lacking...a winner that wants to produce positive results and will do what he has to do to get them.

The excuses are old, McCarthy is done in my view. If he isn't canned, it is going to continually be another long season after season.

Former Packers defensive tackle Gilbert Brown says the team's loss to the Buccaneers on Sunday is the strongest sign to date that it's time for a new coach in Green Bay.

Speaking on WSSP in Milwaukee, Brown ripped Packers coach Mike McCarthy for the coaching job he's done this season.

"It is the head coach's fault," Brown said, per SportsRadioInterviews.com. "Everything that goes on starts with the big man upfront."

When it was pointed out to Brown that the Packers have personnel issues, which would seem to suggest that General Manager Ted Thompson is the problem, Brown said it's still McCarthy's job to find a way to win with the players he has.

"It doesn't matter," Brown said. "It doesn't matter with the talent and what you put on the field if you keep making mistakes week in and week out and you don't correct it and the same thing keeps going on."

Brown, who played with Brett Favre in Green Bay from 1993 to 2003, said the Packers' two losses to Favre and the Vikings doomed the whole season to failure.

"The Vikings have stole our swagger, period," Brown said. "Everybody on that team stole our swagger. Took our quarterback. Took our heart on Lambeau Field. Took our heart in front of millions of fans on TV. Then you go out and lose to an 0-7 team. The debacle started when they played the Vikings right there. The two Vikings games crushed the season."

The Packers are coming off of an unexpected loss to the worst team in the NFL, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Heading into the game, the Packers were favored to win by ten points on the road and the Buccaneers first round pick, Josh Freeman, was making his NFL debut. A recipe that usually cooks up a win ended up in disaster and has struck a huge blow to their psyche and postseason hopes. The Packers finish the first half of the season at 4-4 and have all but given up hope on a NFC North championship as it looks like the Vikings will run away with the division. The Packers hopes of making the playoffs rest on an unforeseen collapse of the Vikings or a shot at one of the two NFC wild card playoff spots.

For a normal franchise, Green Bay really hasnt played that bad this season but with their historic past the Packers are supposed to win every year or at least contend for the title. They can still make the playoffs but only if they essentially play mistake-free football from here on out. They also have to give Aaron Rodgers more time to throw the football. The offensive line has looked elementary at times this season and they better learn quickly because they play the now vaunted Dallas Cowboys this week. As we all know, the Cowboys have a tremendous pass rush and should give them all they can handle and more.

Former Packer Gilbert Brown aka Gravedigger joined WSSP in Milwaukee to talk about whether he is concerned about Aaron Rodgers play as of recently, who is to blame for the Packers situation this season, and whether firing an assistant coach on offense or defense would help shake things up

On why Greg Jennings has dropped off:

Why are we wasting time with that? It is a team situation now. Everybody starts pointing the finger at individuals when things go wrong. How about we point the finger at the whole team and the talent dude?

Whether he is concerned about Aaron Rodgers play as of recently:

I am concerned about everything. Defensively, offensively is like You know what it is man? Lets take a look at how many losses do they have? Four? Two losses belong to the Vikings. One loss belongs to the worst team in the NFL this year and Cincinnati which is playing very well. So lets look at this. The Vikings have stole our swagger period. Everybody on that team stole our swagger. Took our quarterback. Took our heart on Lambeau Field. Took our heart in front of millions of fans on TV. Then you go out and lose to a 0-7 team. The debacle started when they played the Vikings right there. The two Vikings games crushed the season. They had so much riding on it. The fans had so much riding on it. Guys jobs is riding on it and now when you lose to a team like the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who had not won a game this year, how do you get up to go play the Dallas Cowboys?

On who is to blame for the Packers situation this season:

It is the head coachs fault. Everything that goes on starts with the big man upfront. (Host: You said it was the personnel?) It doesnt matter. It doesnt matter with the talent and what you put on the field if you keep making mistakes week in and week out and you dont correct it and the same thing keeps going on, guys running off the field. You got guys undisciplined like Johnny Jolly. Somebody has to step up and fix that and the head coach is the guy that is supposed to take care of everything at 1265 and when he cant, he turns around and hes supposed to have Ted standing right behind him to fix it as well. It starts with them two guys.

Whether firing an assistant coach on offense or defense would help shake things up:

Nope. If you want to shake it up you go to take out the head honchos. That is the only way because they still let that go on. You mean to tell meI am coaching the Lacrosse Spartans, rightLets say that I am the head coach over there and my offensive line coach is steady letting these stupid penalties go on. Am I going to just sit there and say look man fix it or I am going to get rid of you? I am pretty sure that has gone on. If you dont do anything about it he must like his offensive line to do what they are doing. So there is no changes. It is week 10. How much do you got to do before you do something?
