We lost two huge games to MN. And we have had problems. Oline, pass rush, run defense (early), dropped balls, some injuries, kicking (LOL).

What is the chance that our 1st half play was seriously effected by the Brett/MN factor, and now that we are done with them (except playoffs please) we have a weight off our shoulders and are free to just play ball.

I hope at for the 2nd half of the season, we don't have that distraction floating around anymore and just go for it. Aaron frees up and throws a couple picks while scoring tons of TDs.
The world needs ditch diggers too Danny!!!

What problems have we had with kicking?

Interesting point with the MN factor. I guess we have to wait and find out.

The team can roll from here on out. They have the talent for it.

Whether they will, I don't know. we haven't been consistent at all. I think that the Favre jitters had something to do with our first half of play, but the same thing happend to the Bengals.

So far, against good teams, we've ony played well when we're behind or when the game is (nearly) out of reach. Of course, we've had just 2 good teams so far, getting the Vikings twice. Fact is, though, we lost all of them.

I think that we're an ok team right now. A little above average, maybe wild card material, but I don't see us going anywhere in the play-offs or beating more than 1 heavy weigth (and I don't consider Arizone one).

Or, of course, we have to get on one of those sick play-off runs like the Giants in 2007 and the Cardinals in 2008.

Crosby appears to be on the Minnesota pay-roll, but apart from that, he's only missed some really long ones.

Missed fieldgoals. Poor special teams as far as kick coverage.

Who knows though..........of course i HOPE we put together a strong run. But no one really knows how the rest of the year will pan out.

you have all been very confident every week that the packers will roll, why should you think any different this week?

They need to be focused on redemption. Get hot, fight through the season for a wildcard spot, and do to the Vikings what they did to us when we swept them during the reg. season and they beat us in Lambeau.

Rest of the season, I see 3 gimme wins(Seattle, Tampa, Detroit), 2 likely losses(Pitt, BAL) and 4 games that will be tough to win(Dal, Chi, SF, AZ).

I'm thinking 5 wins & 9-7 or 8-8 if we get some bad bounces or bad luck. I have a feeling week 17 vs Arizona will be a big game with the winner getting that last wild card spot at 9-7.

I'm mostly with you on this one. I don't know if Seattle will be a gimme win, but we should indeed win that one. I see us losing against Pitt and Bal, as well. We'll just have to hope that Rodgers survives the aggressive Baltimore defense, then the Chicago defense and then the Steel wall. I hope he keeps healthy with our O-line.

If he does, we should be able to beat Seattle and most likely Arizone as well, depending on what kind of day they have.

Overall I'd say.

@ TB - Win
DAL - Loss
SF - Win/Loss
@ DET - Win
BAL - Loss
@ CHI - Win/Loss
@ PIT - Loss
SEA - Win
@ ARI - Win

I'm not feeling really confident about beating SF and playing the Bears at their field always makes a hard fought battle.

That'd leave us anywhere in between 8-8 and 10-6. So lets just take the middle road and go with 9-7. Maybe a wildcard. Or maybe it'll just make for the most useless record there is. Over .500, not getting into the play-offs, but not getting a high draft spot either.

At least I'll enjoy every single win.

beast (24-Jan) : Either the Cowboys have no idea what they're doing, or they're targeting their former OC, currently the Eagles OC
Zero2Cool (23-Jan) : Fake news. Cowboys say no
Zero2Cool (23-Jan) : Mystery candidate in the Cowboys head coaching search believed to be Packers ST Coordinator Rich Bisaccia.

beast (23-Jan) : I wonder why the Jets always hire defensive coaches to be head coach
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Still HC positions available out there. I wonder if Hafley pops up for one
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Trent Baalke is out as the Jaguars GM.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Jeff Hafley would have been a better choice, fortunately they don't know that. Someone will figure that out next off season
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Aaron Glenn Planning To Take Jets HC Job

wpr (22-Jan) : Beast- back to yesterday, I CAN say OSU your have been Michigan IF the odds of making the playoffs were more urgent.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Glad to hear you are feeling a bit better.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : I've been near death ill last several days, finally feel less dead and site issues.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : It is a big deal. This host is having issues. It's frustrating.
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : just kidding...it was down
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : you were blocked yesterday, due to a a recalcitrant demeanor yesterday in the penalty box for a recalcitrant demeanor
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Was that site shutdown on your end or mine? No big deal, just curious
beast (21-Jan) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere
beast (21-Jan) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
beast (21-Jan) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
beast (21-Jan) : You can't assume Ohio State would of won the Michigan game...
beast (21-Jan) : Rankings were 1) Oregon 2) Georgia 3) Texas 4) Penn State 5) Notre Dame 6) Ohio State, none of the rest mattered
wpr (21-Jan) : Texas, ND and OSU would have been fighting for the final 2 slots.
wpr (21-Jan) : Oregon and Georgia were locks. Without the luxury of extra playoff berths, Ohios St would have been more focused on Michigan game.
wpr (21-Jan) : Zero, no. If there were only 4 teams Ohio State would have been one of them. Boise St and ASU would not have been selected.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : So that was 7 vs 8, that means in BCS they never would made it?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : A great game. Give ND credit for coming back, although I am please with the outcome.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : FG to make it academic
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : and there's the dagger
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooo 8 point game with 4 minutes to go!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooooooohhhhhh he missed!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Ooooo that completion makes things VERY interesting
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Game not over yet
beast (21-Jan) : Oh yeah, Georgia starting quarterback season ending elbow injury
beast (21-Jan) : Sadly something happened to Georgia... they should be playing in this game against Ohio State
beast (21-Jan) : I thought Ohio State and Texas were both better than Notre Dame & Penn State
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame getting rolled
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : Ohio State just got punched in the gut. Lets see how they respond
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame vs the Luckeyes, bleh
