A few things....
Some felt he held himself back to be more of a system quarterback instead of letting his own personality take over.
Aaron didn't hold himself back. Mike McCarthy did. MM's playcalling was highly questionable last year. Mike McCarthy needs to be as aggressive as he was in '07 or I'd be calling for him to be on a short leash.
They have a safety (Anthony Smith) with experience to help the younger guys (Nick Collins and Atari Bigby) with their duties as playcallers in the defense.
Huh? Nick and Atari know what they're doing. Smith is merely backup in case one of them gets hurt.
They have a big test against Minnesota (Im already sick of hearing the Rodgers vs. Favre storylines leading into that one) in Week 4,
Favre or no Favre, MN is still the team to beat in the division. I'm actually hoping MN has Favre and they get good Brett, not bad Brett. If we can beat them with good Brett, we're for real.
OK, this is changing the subject a little but this is what I don't get in life - there are those who instead of bumping themselves up, they'd rather their opponents got weaker. That thinking is stupid. I like tough opponents because when you beat them, that means you are for real.
Lets not forget, either, they have one of the top cornerback tandems in the league (though Al Harris might struggle with the zone; hes a far better man-to-man CB).
I'm sure Capers will account for that. He's shown he's flexible enough to make things work if he has to.
Overall - our W/L record all goes to one thing - how our D holds up. If it's closer to '07, expect a strong season. If it's closer to '08, it will be a long season. I'm actually confident we'll be good, Capers will work some magic, and the 3-4 will work.
