Well, you guys never should have driven Holmgren out of Green Bay. You'd have a s-load of SB trophy's by now.
You don't give Holmgren what he wants, but then turn around and give it to his assmunch assistant, Mike Sherman. I never will understand that.
(. It's interesting see how "coddled" Aaron Rodgers is compared to Favre. Why is that, I wonder?)
(And before anyone starts taking pot shots at Favre, read this..)
Another great almost quit the game amidst doubts about his ability until his OLD MAN set him straight.
That great was Mickey Mantle.

I still don't understand the giving the reigns to Sherman and not Holmgren either. Though I believe that neither should have had both hats. Separation of duties is a good thing.

Holmgren was never ran out of town. He wanted to be GM and Head Coach. Wolf didn't step down so Holmgren left to more money, better location, and a promotion. He did what anyone would do under his circumstance.
Wolf hired Rhodes which didn't workout and then Sherman. Shortly after Sherman was brought in, Wolf announced he'd step down and Sherman was given both HC/GM duties by Bob Harlan.
The irony to all this is had Holmgren made his decision to leave Green Bay sooner or the Packers missed the playoffs that year, I am under the impression that Green Bay was indeed set to hire Andy Reid as Holmgren successor.
I wonder how history may of changed had that happened. Reid, no doubt would've taken the job and safe to say he's a fine coach. Apparently, Reid wasn't able to wait because the Eagles made the offer and while Reid from what I heard preferred Green Bay, the oppurtunity to go to Philly as coach was to much to pass up.
So maybe it's not Holmgren who would've won another one in Green Bay, but Andy Reid because those Packer teams were very talented especially offensively that Mike Sherman inherited.
