70+ yards doesn't happen if the defense does their job.

Indiana was over matched at the LOS and were running at will even with them loading the box.. so the Badgers, even though completely burying them with the run, now PA passes it with a go route with what a 50+ lead.
No need to embarrass the over matched team like that. IMO of course.

It wasn't a play action and it was 3rd and 6. We didn't try to fake them out it was a pass play the entire way in a likely passing down when we had clearly been trying to convert every first down, by passing or running. We had a freshman backup quarterback in throwing to a freshman receiver who has just recently broken into the team. Why not see if your freshman quarterback can throw the ball or if your freshman receiver can go up and get a ball?
Besides, we ran it most of the second half. By the end of the game we had our third string quarterback in and a fourth string freshman running back in. We weren't running trick plays.
Also, style points matter in college football. As it stands right now Wisconsin is one rank above Ohio State in the BCS and if Michigan State, Wisconsin, and Ohio State finish tied next week at 11-1 the highest BCS ranked team goes. Wisconsin can't afford to play a close game, they have to completely and utterly destroy teams to ensure they stay ahead of Ohio State.
If Wisconsin is in the same scenario next week with Northwestern I hope they put them to the sword. I will be damned if Wisconsin ends up not going to the Rose Bowl thanks to a BCS tiebreaker and Bielema worrying about the feelings of the team on the other sideline.
edit: video of the pass play in question
http://espn.go.com/ncf/video?gameId=303170275 edit 2: Also, with regards to running it every play but one in the second half against Michigan. That was not a matter of letting them off. They couldn't stop the run and we needed to keep their offense off the field. They showed with the two quick scores in the 3rd quarter that once they started to execute they were an offense that could move the ball easily. They couldn't stop the run and it kept their offense off the field and we held on to win.
