A league source tells us that the Steelers will be cutting linebacker Larry Foote.

More details to come after radio spot with Paul Allen of KFAN in Minnesota.

Pre-draft I would have been more open to this idea - now I'm not sure what he offers that we don't have, other than experience in the system.

If we can get him relatively cheap it might be a good addition to add competition and experience with the 3-4. Otherwise, I'd say no.

Even with the draft, I say you bring in as much veteran talent as you can. Though they can win competition by default, eventually the younger players start to gel, and they can be eased into the competition.

There is nothing wrong with immediately making your team better.

If you get cut, you get cut.

Travis LaBoy has been cut aswell. Not as good as Foote, but if we want some guys to get into the system and fit quite nicely, we can pick up two right now.

I guess it all depends on how much trust Ted Thompson and McCarthy have in our guys and I think, especially after the draft, that they have enough to not sign anyone (on defense) anymore.
