Zero - I know you're trying to piss off Ted Thompson-haters out there with this thread, but let's be realistic. It's year #5. We BETTER have a winning record this year.

I think all this Ted Thompson love is premature. If we make a deep run in the Playoffs in '09, then I'll believe. He's yet to make me a believer. That 14-4 year almost seems like a fluke. And no, I don't blame him for the 4-12 year. That was also a fluke. I've never seen a team that injured.

This is what I see - 8-8, 14-4, 6-10. Better than average, but let's not start bragging until we start producing. Or am I being too realistic? Let's not forget, we're Packers fans, not Vikings fans. We should have bigger standards.

Oh how I disagree with that thinking...

Rankings do little other than give one perspective on how one has done, but I have yet to see a trophy for an offense being in the top 5 consistently. Hell, the Vikes have been #1 against the rush for a couple years in a row, yet when was their last deep playoff run?

At this level of sports, you play to win the big game, if you don't your goals have fallen short. Simple as that.. only one team can say the accomplished what they set out to do.

We the fans seek enjoyment from the games.. some of us have a hard time separating enjoyment from the reality of the situation.. which is a need to win consistently.

I see 08 as either a opportunity to build from or crumble.. this offseason should show whom learned from the hard defeats of the 08 season, and which players come in without a fire for redemption.

If the fabric of this team is what Ted and Co. set out to do when they got here, building a team with strong character, the number of players seeking redemption will far outweigh those that aren't.

That there will be a true measure of how well Ted as done building this team. And I hate to say this, none of us will truly know the results without seeing that attitude first hand.

TT has worked on improving the defensive coaching.

If anyone can't figure out how to run a rail road they should spend their time at PackerChatters and not come here. 😛

The year before last, it seemed every bounce went our way.
Last year was the opposite. We were NOT an awful team, but had some lapses on D and ST's and calls that doomed the season.
Those things are correctable. The talent is there. But they NEED to perform at their highest level at all times.
Otherwise we will see a repeat of last year.
I myself remain optomistic about this coming season.

But ONLY time will tell which of us was right or wrong.

I am pretty much in agreement with everyone.

Except: what about Samkon Gado?

I know he fizzled out just as quickly as he came to be fairly known, but still I will always love him(you Gado believe).
