Who cares lol, all the players that haven't re-signed and went elsewhere have all sucked or not played at there expectations. Including Javon Walker.

I really missed Tony Fisher. He was my 3rd down back in Madden. He was dependable in the role except when he got suctioned through an OG into a LB, which he had a distinct inability to avoid. But damnit, he could convert those 3rd downs almost 25% of the time. I'll never forgive Ted Thompson for that injustice.

Zero - I know you're trying to piss off TT-haters out there with this thread, but let's be realistic. It's year #5. We BETTER have a winning record this year.

I think all this Ted Thompson love is premature. If we make a deep run in the Playoffs in '09, then I'll believe. He's yet to make me a believer. That 14-4 year almost seems like a fluke. And no, I don't blame him for the 4-12 year. That was also a fluke. I've never seen a team that injured.

This is what I see - 8-8, 14-4, 6-10. Better than average, but let's not start bragging until we start producing. Or am I being too realistic? Let's not forget, we're Packers fans, not Vikings fans. We should have bigger standards.

Ted love? You outta read more of my posts about Ted ;)

Bragging? Wow, seriously, READ some of my posts, please! My gosh.

I heard something on the radio that made me think about this which is why I posted it. Are we a better team NOW than when Ted got here? No he has not brought in a desired amount of talent from the FA pool, but who has he let go that hurt us? There has to be some, if not at least a handful.

It's hard to accurately say we should be grabbing up FA's more now than we did 10 years ago because of the talent pool available and the ungodly amount of money being dished out.

I think Ted does well on the draft and talent scouting. When it comes to being able to SELL his team to a player, I think he fails miserably. To get Woodson we had to throw a lot of cha ching at him to persuade him.

We are where we were pre Reggie White and lots of Ted haters refuse to acknowledge that. We are NOT someplace players WANT to go to.

The bad thing is, there is NOT another Reggie White lurking around the corner to lure in with big bucks to help dissuade that misconception that GB is a craphole, or however other plays view it.

Our CURRENT players need to speak UP and OUT to other players to help Ted with these guys.

Another thing. I think Ted fails on trades. Instead of pulling a trigger on say sending a 3rd instead of a 4th rounder to get a player, he'll sit back an wait to see if the 4th is good enough. If someone else comes in and offers a 3rd he backs off. No, I am NOT referring to Moss. The Packers (this has been confirmed several times) felt they had Moss for I believe a 4th or 5th rounder when day one ended. The Patriots came in, offered a better pick and didn't give the Packers a chance to match or increase.

I'm talking more so with the Tony G type of trade or potential trade. True, Chiefs ended up sticking it to us, but that's what I'm talking about. Be proactive, not reactive.

Target a player, do what it takes to get them. Don't just wait and see if they fall into our damn lap.

Maybe he has been targeting players and they just aren't falling in for us? Who knows. Maybe Reggie McKenzie just isn't convincing enough to get players here for a visit?

All I know is we need to sell Green Bay to potential players FAR better than we have in recent years. I read comments about other players saying they don't want to come to GB cuz its cold, no night clubs, etc.

Green Bay is a awesome town and we have BY FAR the best fans. If some of the players would step up and help, we'd be able to bring other players in far easier.

Seems to me everyone is waiting for another Reggie White signing to do all the work for them.

Yes, another Reggie White isn't out there, but he's a once in a lifetime player.

But as I've said in another post, the ONLY thing that matters is the record. 2009 = Year 5. Rebuilding is over. Time for results.

You and I are in complete agreement here. Besides Bustin, I think he's done pretty well with his draft picks. I would have picked AJ Hawk too and I still stand by him. I think with the right coaching, he can still be something good.

But I don't think Ted Thompson has good sales skills. He failed to close more than one deal that you and I both know about but I don't want to bring up again and open yet another can of worms.

And good examples. I think we're in agreement on them.

I say rubbish to that, last year was OUR year. We should have done way better. This year is more of a redemption for the Packers. I gave Ted a 'pass' so to speak on the 4 - 12 season because that was primary Sherman's mess, but the years after that are his to own. 8 - 8, 13 - 3 and POOHEY - 10. Unacceptable.

We should have had 8 - 10 wins last season, hands down.

If we do NOT make the playoffs this year, I will be VERY disappointed. We are better than the Lions and Bears and yes, better than the Vikings. We even STILL have the best QB in the division.

4 - 3 or 3 - 4, no excuses, at least playoffs, period. We've had time to pad our depth (yes we still have time) and we need to get more depth on our team.
